Why Facebook and Youtube are losing users to Steemit: My interview with Bloomberg

"On most cryptocurrency exchange sites, you have to trade them for Bitcoin first, then swap the Bitcoin for cash"

You know, I'm so super excited when people point that out. Because it literally is a network effect problem. All it takes really one person starting to accept Steem for cash and it's going to snowball from there.

In fact I've ever thought "why stop there?". Steem Dollar (with big enough volume imo) functions perfectly as a medium of Exchange, if not Steem itself. Why not straight up sell coffee for Steem?

It's something that's been done in Malaysia where I'm from for example. We're still a small community but it's enough that one of us (@danielwong) literally start integrating cryptocurrency in his business and accept Steem for his Lit-AF burgers.

Even @sjnennon approves of how good it is!!

IMO i feel Big Webs like Facebook and Alphabet have 2 options. Adapt to crypto (good luck with that ) or get replaced. Thinking of that, if there were such a thing as a crypto boner, i'd have one now. LOL

Thanks for reading the article!!

Was my pleasure!!

You are exactly right! The more users Steemit attracts, the more opportunity for users to interact using Steem as a currency. Steem for a burger sounds pretty good to me!

Burger is the very very beginning. Bitcoin may have its Pizza Day, Steem will soon have a "All Utility Day". Lol

Sounds like a plan :)

me too!
