Kids forgive easily, they hold no grudge nor malice, except when they live with parents or people who trained them to be bitter. Have seen that happened before, a neighbor who never allow her kids to play with me and my brothers when we were much younger.
The woman is an old colleague of my late mom, they both worked in a school before they were transferred to different new schools, as chance would have it, we rented an apartment close to each other few years later. For one reason or another, this woman still holds grudge against my mom, her old colleague, you could tell from the look on her face when she comes back and sees her kids playing with us and as young as i was, i noticed it and even those kids hated each moment our playtime is been truncated by the woman.
My mom never knew until much later, we were grown a bit and i narrated how and what Mrs. A use to do back then, it was then my mom remembered where the hatred came from.
As children, we never cared about what happened between our parents, we were free and happy each time we had the time to play all together, the joy on our little faces when our moms were away and we came out to play especially on rainy days where we could throw ourselves in the puddle of rainwater, or how we chase each other in the nearby bush acting Police and Thieves.
True joy and happiness reside in hearts of kids, they are yet to be polluted with the travails of life, the tender love in their hearts makes them forgive easily, even when kids fight, they make up almost instantly.
Happiness is cheap, but also scarce. We, humans, have placed much of our happiness and joy in material things and Wealth, the lack and want of it make us sad. Unlike kids, nothing takes a child's happiness away so easily until they are touched by the cruelty and harshness of growing up!
