Ramadan started from yesterday. It's a very holy month where people of the faith observe fast throughout the day from Sunrise to Sunset, absolutely not consuming any food and water. Not consuming food is still good, but not consuming water or any other liquids is a bit difficult. Thankfully this time Ramadan has begun early before the peak summer season starts so it's kind of a little relief for people observing the fast. Specially the labour people who are working out in the Sun. It is very difficult for them to work in the scorching heat without water. Ideally in this time, they should not work, but nowadays the work culture does not give such leisure. Fasting has been a part of every culture in some or the other way, and it is considered a time of cleansing.
This period is just not about fasting and prayer, it is also a time of reflection and retrospections. One thing I always feel is why do we humans wait for periods like these to do the right things. Why cannot this be done on an ongoing basis. I am not talking about the fasting but the reflections and retrospections. A lot of charity takes place in this time and I just wish that all of this could happen all the time, then this world would be such a heaven to live in. Through out the month, there will be Iftars everywhere. Iftar is the meal that is taken at the break of the fast. People who follow Ramadan do invite people of other faiths also to join them in the meal. It's a time to bond and share.
These periods of fasting are followed by many cultures around the world. Like Christians follow Lent, Jains follow Paryushana, Bahais follow Ayyam-i-Ha. The names are different but the purpose of all of them is somewhat similar. They all guide towards developing a stronger spiritual connection and abstaining from temptations of life. The fasting periods are not any punishments or suffering, it is a way towards a life of good thoughts, good words and good deeds and showing humility towards one another. It is also teaches us self-love and self-care which we so much ignore for ourself. It teaches us to slow down, look around, appreciate what we have in life and be in Gratitude. It's a time of healing and spreading love.
After the 30 days of Ramadan we will have a short break. A holiday of 5 to 7 days, and I am also eagerly looking forward to that, as we plan to make a short trip to one of the other city of Oman which we have not yet explored.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
I congratulate you on the beginning of this wonderful period of purification.
You are right, I would like to have this not in periods, but on an ongoing basis. Just the culture of our daily life.
But the golden taurus is angry, he needs to keep people in fear and dependent on goods ...
However, each person must decide for himself who he is and where he is going :)

Absolutely, at the end of the day it is about what choices we make for our self and that will decide the quality of our life.
