Loss of Snow on the Top of Cartenz

Hi Steemian how are you doing today? Hopefully always healthy and creative work.
Indonesia has the pride of being one of the countries in the world of three snow-capped mountains in the tropics. Besides Peru and Africa, Indonesia has the Jayawijaya Peak in Papua, there is eternal snow.
From wikipedia we can find out that Puncak Jaya or Carstensz Pyramid is a peak that is part of the Sudirman Barisan which is located in Papua Province, Indonesia. Puncak Jaya has a height of 4,884 m and around it is the Carstensz glacier, the only tropical glacier in Indonesia.
This peak is the highest mountain in Indonesia's Oceania region. Puncak Jaya or some people call top of Jayawijaya is one of the seven peaks of the world. At the peak of this jay found eternal snow. The Puncak Jaya snowfall was successfully climbed in early 1909 by a Dutch explorer, Hendrikus Albertus Lorentz with six Kenyah tribes recruited from Apau Kayan in North Kalimantan.
Recently we have experienced very drastic climate change. Global warming triggers climate change. Warming temperatures make the snow melt. The glacier which is the pride of the Indonesian people is threatened to disappear. This is supported by temperatures in the Pacific Ocean which are getting warmer so that when the air blows towards the top of Jayawijaya will make the existing snow melt. Thinning thickness makes the snow reserves will soon disappear in no time.

Hydrological Effects

The loss of snow from the top of Jayawijaya certainly poses a direct or indirect threat to the availability of water reservoirs. We know that snow is a fresh water reserve that will be very beneficial for life. The hydrological threat is further exacerbated by illegal logging. if the snow melt continues and does not get anticipated by the community it will certainly endanger the surrounding community and in general contribute to the source of the global disaster.
Snow will be very useful during the dry season to prevent water shortages. Snow will be a source of spring and make natural life around the mountains so water needs are met.
but if the snow disappears then the potential of the spring will be reduced. The absence of vegetation will reduce water reserves and reduce the threat of drought. The loss of forests creates another threat during the rainy season. Floods and landslides will be the biggest threat. If we are not vigilant and pay attention to natural conditions by taking precautions it will certainly have a negative impact on us all.
Therefore, we must jointly prevent this situation from getting worse. We must stop illegal logging immediately. We must replant the bare forest. we need to do good logging and selective logging. Cut down old trees and rejuvenate by planting new seeds.
Thus my writing this time may be useful.

The change in snowfall patterns is a serious alarm bell! Yes, the climate is changing..... and we need to engage fully, personally and with passion to do what we can to mitigate the fallout and prepare for living differently.
