My fishing adventure from my weekend of hell.

Those that have been following me for a while will know I often finish a long(er) post with a promise of a part 2 or follow up which I have never delivered on so far. So today I am going to do something unprecendent... I am actually going to tell you about my fishing trip the start of which can be found here.

It was a hell of a Saturday as documented in the previous post linked above and so I decided I needed to get out and relax and go with the boys for a fishing trip. Things didn't quite go as planned (on day I will tell you all a story where things went perfectly and you will all be shocked)...

I woke up early Sunday morning got all my gear ready and before I left the house I thought I'd just cut my nails, when my nail clippers broke...

Which was bad enough but they also useful when I go fishing. so I had one less tool. This was just a bad omen, I should have cancelled the fishing trip right there, but I guess hindsight is 20-20.

I get in the car, drive to the dock and get in the boat with my mates and we head out to fish. As we head out the craziest thing happened. We caught a fish... well we almost caught it and let me tell you, it was a wake up call, a reminder that no matter how bad, it can always get better.

we go out to sea and get into a bigger boat (the big boat can't come into the river you see) and we head out to open waters to do some real fishing. After about 3 hours of no real luck, one of my mates get a fish on the line, and it's doozy, now normally a fish this size takes hours to reel in, but it must have been tlaking to the other fish because it up and jumped into our boat

The tuna was so big it took Darren's spot on the boat. It was fun watching him swim after us. Though I guess he had the last laugh, I forgot how much of a vengeful fucker he really is...

He painted the boat yellow... Disgusting colour!!

So I refuse to go on the boat any more, I think from now on I'll just fish like my friend Luke, just from my car. I think that'll be safer anyway, I didn't see any cars get attacked in Jaws, or Jaws 2...
