White Sox Furious Over Latest Snubbing: Jim Shorts Reports

in funny •  7 years ago

For many years, the Chicago White Sox have been the second team in the second city. In baseball Inception terms that makes them something like the 28 most popular team in sports. You would think it would simply be 22 but you will have to take that up with Leonardo DiCaprio.

This was ranked as the 8th best play in the history of the White Sox.

Crap team within a crap team or not, the White Sox have always been an afterthought in Chicago. If they have been an afterthought in their own city, then they have been an absolutely-no-thought everywhere else.

If you need proof of their status (or actually total lack of any status whatsoever) you only need to look as far back as last October. As the very noticeable Chicago Cubs got set to play the Cleveland Indians in the World Series, ESPN, a network 100% dedicated to all things sports put up the graphic to show the difference between the two cities:

This graphic would not have been a big deal except

The White Sox Won the World Series in 2005!

ESPN is a SPORTS network for crying out loud. I bet their researchers know who won every curling championship for the past 50 years yet they missed a WORLD SERIES winner?!!!!!

But what happened today is far worse. Still licking their wounds from that October snubbing, today Miami Marlin slugger Giancarlo Stanton poured salt on those wounds by stating, "If you can't win a series against the worst team in the league, there's not much going for you, right there."

Sadly for the White Sox, Stanton was referring to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The White Sox have valiantly spent the last twelve seasons trying to put together the absolute worst team possible. Finally, this season, they got it right. They are a steaming pile of hot garbage. And yet, they can't get any credit for the masterful way they have become absolutely unwatchable.

The White Sox have even attempted to get credit for worst uniforms ever. But people promptly forgot these.

Although it is true that the Phillies have the worst record in baseball, the White Sox are hot on their tail. Not only have the Sox lost 9 out of their last 10, they are systematically shedding themselves of any major league talent that accidentally landed on their roster.

When asked to comment, White Sox team President Kenny Williams, threw over a table and screamed, "I did my best to deplete this organization of any young or old talent. I made some of the worst trades in the history of baseball. Now just because I let Rick Hahn take over and he is actually building up our farm system, everyone forgets the laughable incompetence I displayed for over a decade! This is unacceptable. This is not the White Sox way!"

Williams then stormed out of the clubhouse, jumped on the phone and began making calls to trade the White Sox top three prospects for Ken Griffey Jr.

The trade will be a long shot considering Griffey retired in 2010 and no team has his rights. Perhaps Willimas will simply trade the prospects for an Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card.

That will show Stanton!

Just wait until they add "Hawk" Harrelson to the 24 man roster. He'd be a better DH than Yaz. Stretch!

Wow, it's looking cool!
