Guilty Pleasure Music Challenge - Week 1 - How much I miss your hug

in guiltypleasuremusic •  7 years ago

@sjennon is an awesome lady, so her challenge wouldn't be less awesome of course!

As a Greek that I had to grow up in a country that all songs are about love, sadness and crying and incredibly cheesy, I couldn't not participate in this challenge!!! Hahaha!!! Probably it'll be the only week I'll be able to participate since Greek songs are all about Tears and only :P

I chose a song from back in the 90's which is very special to me [even though MOST of Greek songs are like this, a guy crying about how she left him or a girl crying about him cheating on her or about the new girlfriend or something :P ], because we were making fun of it in school.
Sotis Volanis is a strange artist, some say he's a Greek gypsy but not quite sure about that, had a star for an album or so and then disappeared - but back then, I'm telling you, he was the man!
We were even making fun of the lyrics, in Greek - imagine that :P
Still though, special to me that' why I'm sharing ;) Enjoy !!!

Sotis Volanis - Poso mou leipei - How much I miss (your hug)

How I miss your warm hug, like I miss summer
[The pain] Cuts me like knives
You are absent and I am alone, I am cold, I can't stand it, I am freezing
I feel like I am coming to an end [ok in Greek here it literally says just 'I'm finishing' which means 'I'm done' here, but it also means 'I'm cumming' in Greek - you imagine the fun :P :P :P]
Where can I find you, to tell you I love you....
You are absent and I see snow and rain in the summer [where are you man, in Denmark? :P ]
How I miss your warm hug, like I miss the summer
[The pain] Cuts me like knives
You are absent and I am alone, I am cold, I can't stand it, I am chilling
I feel like I am coming to an end
Where can I find you, to tell you I love you...
[not too many lyrics, I know, and not too complicated either :P ]

I don't know what's with the Greek and Tunisian flags at the top right of the video by the way xD

Fun song! Too bad I can't understand greek.

It does sound a bit turkish though :P

Actually that's gypsy Greek so close enough ;)
Even though Greece,Romania,Turkey and Middle East we don't have many differences when talking about Pop or traditional music ;)

Does gypsy greek sound different different than normal greek (the language)?

Uhm...gypsy is one thing,Greek is another one and gypsy Greek is a blend -so yeah. Even though technically there's no 'gypsy language',they do have their own dialect in all other languages, not just Greek, that non gypsy nationals don't understand. ;)

ποιότητα! :P

etsi! i kanoume quality posts edopera i den kanoume :P

It's amazing to hear songs from all kinds of nationalities :D

Eventhough this song seems pretty sad, it's pretty upbeat!

Haha yeah and to me, it's pretty funny even though the lyrics are sad :P [I'm such a bitch hahaha]

plenty - depends on what you need. But for starters, stop posting spamming comments on people's posts.

Ok

If you ask me I would still dance my feet out, seems more like a happy song :D to me but is just me being weird

not really weird, the music is typical 'happy' dancing like Greek so yeah, it does seem like a happy song! :D
