If you are changing your Diet to a healthier Lifestyle, with the Goal to lose weight, don´t let youre scale frustrate you.

On the Picture above, you can see how heavy muscles are compared to fat. Even if you changed your diet and are working out, it is possible that you don´t lose weight for some time or even gain a little bit.

Much more important is the Percentage of your Body Fat. The most healthy percentage is between 10 - 15 %. So you should try to get under at least 20 %.

There are a Bunch of good Reasons, to chase this Goal.

It helps regulate blood sugar and diabetes.
It improves your heart health.
It decreases the risk of a stroke
You can sleep better.
It Improves your mobility.
You get a higher self esteem (That´s great against Depression).
It Decreases joint pain.
It boost´s your Energy (Also great against Depression).
A Higher sex drive.
It Reduces the risk of certain cancers.

I have being overweight my whole life, which is 34 years so far, and I´m suffering from a strong depression since I was just 12 years old. Every benefit of this list motivates me to chase a normal Weight. I´m 177 cm/5'8” of height and started my diet change with 127 kg/280 lb and a Bodyfat of terrible 48 % on June 1st 2021. So far I´m down to 123 kg/271 lb and I´m allready feeling a little bit better.

My Goal is to get down to 77 kg/170 lb with under 15 % Bodyfat, that goal is very far away. What I like to do when I try to achieve something hard, is to set me some smaller goals on the way. So I´ve set myself the goal to get down to 110 kg/242 lb till Christmas and to treat myself with a set of e drums. The next Goal is to reach 100 kg/220 till my birthday, which is in April, and to get myself an acoustic guitar, if I reach it. It doesn´t have to be such a big treat like mine, but if you get yourself something nice once in a while for achieving somehing, it will be a real motivation boost.

Please read the 10 Benefits on the list and be honest to yourself, which Problems are affecting you allready. And think about which Problems you may have in the future. If you are overweight and are allready suffering from some of that health issues or are afraid of such issues in the Future, then you should try to change somethin in your eating habits and/or exercise.

Hello @gormogon, your determination seems great to me, I hope you achieve your goal. I understand you very well, my partner is also overweight, when I met him he was 34 and I was 24. I weighed 55 kilograms and he 125, he was always trying to lose weight and I helped him, we ate a lot of fruit, we drank a lot of water, he was treated twice with specialists and he lost weight but then he gained more, he became depressed and did not want to go out to parties, he would not get out of the car and get upset if someone looked at him, he felt uncomfortable buying clothes. One day I told him "I love you as you are, if you lose weight or not I don't care, what I want is for you to be healthy and old with me." He has not done any more diet, but he has not gained weight either, that was ten years ago, currently I am 50 and he is 60 we are together and we are happy. Time passes, do not waste it looking for an ideal, look for someone who loves you and who to love just as they are. (Sorry, the writing I used the translator). it is not that appearance is the most important thing, but if a young person manages to look better and get rid of excess weight, that improves his self-concept and feels much better about himself. That is what I think.

Ich war mit einem sehr wohlgenährten Mann campen. Wir waren 1 Monat lang unterwegs und trugen eine große Last - Essen, Zelte, Boote, warme Kleidung, Geschirr.
Wir hatten etwa 30-35 kg Fracht für einen erwachsenen Mann dabei.
Am Ende des Trekkings hatte er 7 Löcher weniger im Gürtel. Er hat eine Menge Gewicht verloren. Hat dreimal täglich gegessen. Große Portionen.
