The Killed In Action During The Korean War Along The Corridor Of The Memorial

in history •  6 years ago

The memorial building was a very nice looking architecture.
As I entered into the building, the first thing I saw was the corridor.

The corridors were empty. But if you look at carefully, you can find the black stone boards standing along the corridors.

Oh my god, those names were killed in action during the korean war.

I had read their names for a while. They were someones’ sons and someones’ husband.
My father also took part in the Korean War, but he didn’t tell me the story of the war in detail.
Only words he told me was there were too much casualties after the battlefield and his friends joined together were almost dead during the war.

Turning to the other corridors, there were also names written in English.

Some guys were looking at the those names.

Mainly American solders were sacrificed in Korean War. And 16 countries in the name of the United Nation took part in the Korean War along with U.S and Korea.

That’s right.
But we must remember that all these sacrifices were caused by the One Dictator’s delusion.
His name was Kim Il Sung.

I was so sorry such losses suffered during the Korean War.

At the corner, I saw one couple sitting on the howitzer.

I took photo of them, because they looked so peaceful.
It seemed so ironic. Peace among the weapons.

what a construction, it's an inspiration to see what a human imagination can bring ti existence

Its a very good war memorial that depicts the names of the heroes of the Korean War. We hate Kim Il Sung because of the pain he caused a lot of people all over the world. But we hope that the terror in north Korea will end to stop the pain and suffering that is continuing over there. @slowwalker

Beautiful work .. just stunning pictures
Nice story from you, well done
Thanks for sharing..

A minute dead silence for these heroes of our time .
They’ve done a great job and we still enjoy the course at which they fought and died for. May their heroic spirit find peace

It's so very sad to see names of so many soldiers martyred in the war. I wish we had so many names for the sake of peace. When I saw the 1st picture of black slabs I thought it was one for each soldier but then there is a big list on each one of them, must have been so horrifying, and what their families must have gone through. Wars are drenching and painful but still everyone is fighting :-(
The pictures are captured very well, but I just feel wish it was for some more peaceful thing

We hope korean peninsula will always be peace, north abd and south korea will life in harmony, and trump and kim jong un dialogue will succes, thank you very much @slowwalker,

respect

좋은하루 보내세요!

Ive never been to Korea but from books ive read and movies ive seen, Korea seems to have a very rich history...

This one you just shared made me feel nostalgic. Although i wasnt there during those times, i feel sad for the lives that were lost/sacrificed....
For now, we can only hope for better days....

Wow, a beautiful place with so much history. Most times, places like this serve as a remember about the impact of word because we sometimes are too quick to forget. Peace begets progress and the sustainability of our communities.
Maybe you should do more research about the war and write about it--some life experience of people who were involved or know someone who was personally. It would be interesting.

I like the tag you gave to last photo "Peace among the weapons". Also, being in South Korea i see many war history and signs. I pray we may never have any war ever again. No dispute worth enough to be paid by lives.

Nice information. Thank you. RIP

I believe their sacrifice is not in vain

R.I.P. thank you for your services!

Bright memory to all the soldiers-defenders.
Thank you @slowwalker for showing me these photos.
Let there be no more wars and destruction in the world.
A bright sky above our heads.
My best regards, @singa

I think it's very nice to talk about Korea's history!
I hope we will also get peace one day

This is an amazing architecture work..so perfect and beautiful @slowwalker

Thank you for the information sir @slowwalker nice to meet you here :)

Great pictures! and magnificent history. It is always regrettable what happens in wars and the damage it leaves over time.

It is sad that after so many years years the situation in Korea is still not resolved, and one man (and his sons) can cause misery to so many people.

I hope humankind can eventually work towards more equality in the world and no war.

Very good article and pictures ! The last one is so beautiful ! Keep going ! I’m sharing :)

전쟁 기념관에 저도 아이들과 갔다왔었는데 뼈아픈 역사를 잊지 말아야 되겠더라고요.
이렇게 다시보게되니 감회가 새롭네요.~^^

That's a very interesting building. Respect

How great that they managed to write all the names. So impressive !

Sad atmosphere as same as I visited Atomic bomb museum in Hiroshima. 😢

Oh it's unfortunate, there are so many people! the war was caused so many deaths and not only of Korea if not of other countries, only leaves solitude and destruction where it happens ..
many inosentes die because of this .. others like your dad fought for his country and can tell, as things happened ...
your dad is one of the many heroes ... @slowwalker

amazingly beautiful building and sir @slowwalker
It appears from his image is very eager to place it.

아프리카도 파병을 했었군요
여러나라가 도움을 주어서 다행이 전쟁을 마무리 한거 같은데 고마움을 간직해야 겠어요
