The wide availability of other Epoetin brands like from China had lessened the cost of this important medicine for hundreds of thousands of Dialysis patients here in my country.

Yesterday the policy of the dialysis clinic had changed for the benefit of us dialysis patients which are getting our regular dialysis treatments there. One of the caregivers which are the ones that are assigned to take the readings of the patient's blood pressure prior and after their treatments and are also the ones which are assigned to put "Lazyboy" chair covers prior to patients sitting on them and sometimes the ones that "wheels-out" immobile patients to and from the treatment area told me that the hospital will be giving EPO injections every dialysis session of the patients.

Recently, the dialysis clinic is only giving two EPO injections per week and it is only on Fridays at least for our batch of patients. Sometimes there are no EPOs to be had when Friday comes but at least it is compensated on the succeeding week so there aren't any issues there. I am more than elated to know and experience that patients will never ever have to worry about being anemic because of these important part of dialysis patient's life because anemia due to the problem of patient's red blood cells going low because it is not being replaced by the body anymore due to the faulty Erythropoietin production had been making our lives miserable.

Anemia has a lot of symptoms like being so skinny, well at least in my case, being anemic, weak, irritable, grumpy, and insomniac. I had seen some friends dying from lack of blood and they also suffered psychosis due to the inability to sleep. I too had been plagued by insomnia in so many years and until now I haven't experienced the best sleep that I once had been enjoying before my Kidney condition went worse. In-fact I suffered from severe insomnia about six years before I had my first dialysis session.

I just thank God a million times because I survived it because of his grace and mercy because even though I am not having blood transfusions and EPO injections which are so expensive to procure about nine years ago, my anemic disposition gradually alleviated for some reason. I can only attribute it to God's miracle because I cannot explain on why I am not getting so anemic anymore unlike in the former years prior to around 2014 when that happened even though I am not receiving blood transfusions anymore?

That is why my appetite really improved in those years until my Leontiasis condition manifested gradually and then quickly and prompted me to take Cinacalcet which ruined my appetite until now. But anyway, getting anemic now is quite a thing of the past already especially now that we would be getting or receiving the benefits of the recent improvement of our government healthcare insurance to us dialysis patients of my country.

So after my caregiver told me that I will be getting EPO injections per dialysis schedule I thought like I mentioned above that it will just be two injections until I overheard the other nurse while he was having a conversation to the other patient that the hospital will be giving one EPO per dialysis patient's treatment session. Now not all patients are going for thrice a week dialysis treatments as some patients still prefer to go for a twice a week sessions.

But those that will be going to get treated or only opting-in for twice a week dialysis treatment session will only be getting two pieces of EPO injections and that is the caveat. That is why those are like me that are going for three times dialysis sessions will be getting three pieces of EPO injections!

It's is unprecedented and even if I have the money, in no way that I will be buying three EPO injections even if the EPO injections these days are cheaper compared many years ago where it is about as expensive as the dialysis treatment itself where there are only not more than three brands can be bought from the leading pharmacies in this country.

Now I will be having a backlog of EPO injections because my Nephrologists had held the injections already for me because I already have a high hemoglobin levels in my blood. It means that I will be taking home the EPO injections that they will be handing out to me from now on until maybe next week when my Nephrologist says the go signal again for my EPO use.
