Greetings great minds,I welcome you all to my blog. Having a skill sets you ahead in life whether at a tender age or not. Stay tuned as we learn together.
To start, for me sending children to learn skills at tender age can be both beneficial and detrimental. My reasons goes like this. On one hand, early exposure to skills can foster a lifelong love for learning. Then on the other hand, learning a skill at a tender age can lead to anxiety, stress and burnout if the child is pressured excessively.
But it's essential to remember that every child is different and what works for one might not work for another. So be sure to choose activities that align with their interest and abilities. You should always prioritize their happiness and well-being.
Sending a child to learn a skill at a tender age can have positive and negative effects on a child and below is how it works.
▶️prepares for future success
When a child aquires a skill at a tender age,it can lay the foundation for future academic and professional success.
▶️fosters creativity
Exposure to various skills and activities can encourage creativity, imagination and innovation.
▶️boost confidence
Acquiring a skill at a young age can enhance self-esteem and confidence thereby helping the child feel more capable and empowered.
▶️Develops cognitive skills.
Learning a new skill a young age can improve a child's memory, concentration and problem solving abilities.
▶️Pressure and stress
When a child is over pressured to learn a new skill,it can lead to stress, anxiety and burnout.
▶️lack of interest
Forcing a child to learn a skill he/she is not interested in can lead to frustration, disengagement and a negative attitude towards learning.
▶️Unhealthy competition
When you compare a child's progress or abilities with other children,it can create unhealthy competition, damaging self-esteem and relationships.
▶️Over scheduling.
When a child is bombarded with too many activities,it leaves the child with little or no time to play.
Learning a skill at a tender age is something I will forever be grateful for. I started learning how to play the keyboard/piano when I as just 9 years old. My parents enrolled me in keyboard lessons,I remember being so excited to sit at the keyboard and make music.
Though at first,it was a bit challenging. As a child,my fingers are small and it wasn't hard for me to press the keys down but you know what? My teacher was patient enoug and my parents also encouraged me to practice everyday. As I grew older,I started to enjoy playing the keyboard the more. I love learning new songs and pieces., and I would most times play for my family and friends. One good thing is that playing the keyboard helped me to develop my memory as it also taught me discipline, perseverance and creativity.
Now looking back today,I am grateful to my parents for introducing me to music at such a young age.and to crown it all, it's a skill that have brought me joy and a sense of fulfilment in my life and I also believe that it's still helping me to be the person I am today.
So if I am to say,I would say that if I hadn't learned how to play the keyboard at a tender age,I might have missed the opportunity to develop this valuable skill likewise might also miss out on the Joy and confidence that comes with learning something new and mastering it.
