Three more to go….| 5% for SL Charity.

Whenever I get my year end vacations what pops up in my mind is, “buddyyyy…… it's xmas time”. you can’t really say December without remembering Christmas. It is that much dear to our heart. I get quite anxious when the year draws closer and closer to December because the closer it gets, the harder for me to be patient.

Christmas is not only about making xmas trees, sharing gifts and attending parties. It is a time of reunion and celebration of sharing. As the saying goes, “It’s not what is under the xmas tree that matters, but who gathers around it”. That’s why it becomes a time of merrymaking as the whole family gets together in Christmas just like the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. But for me, xmas gifts matter too because I spend too much of time imagining what gifts will I get this time. Yet, I spend on more timing deciding what gifts I would buy for the others.

Sadly we were suffering from the pandemic last year also, it became a novel experience for me. Of course I miss badly shopping for days to hunt gifts, but there was novelty in online ordering too…. I found it quite amusing to order every sort of a thing from different places. And it saved much time and money as well. If I physically shopped them then I would have ended up going to too many places and buying too many unnecessary things than the gifts….. But still I prefer it over online ordering.

Buying gifts is happy but what is happier is making the xmas tree. That’s the part I enjoyed the most. It’s so cool trying to be as much as creative to make the xmas tree more beautiful.

And the little (not so little) photo shoots that I have with our xmas tree makes me equally happier.

But what makes me the happiest is waking up to this. That’s the only day I wake up early and willingly because I can’t be at peace until I unpacked all those gifts I got.

There is only three months more to feel that excitement again and can hardly wait for that!
