I'm going to say this about the loss of a precious resource that lived a more precious animal life than the one we felt, even if it was not a member of the household.07/03/2022 marked the passing away of the entire world of that majestic elephant king who carried the Tooth relics casket of Lord Buddah for the Esala Perahera at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.
Almost all Sri Lankan citizens were honored and passed away at the age of sixty nine years.His best friend who looked after him was his Black Uncle(elephant controller).In fact, he treated this elephant not as an animal but as his own child.First Black Uncle first came across this when it was being dragged to a wooden shed near Horana.It was bought for seventy-five thousand rupees.It was about 40 years old at the time.
Dharmavijaya doctor has been taken it to Weliweriya from the wooden shed.After coming to Weliweriya he did not have any dragging of logs.Unless it takes a piece of kithul for its to eat.That's how much the doctor gave it every supplies. Lately, his teeth have started to fall out with age.Therefore, the doctor who took care of her has been paying special attention to her teeth lately.
Because Millangoda Raja(elephant), who used to sit like this, lost his teeth and died last time as he could not eat anything. And he can't lower his head to eat. Both teeth hit the ground. So they made sure that it did not happen again.
Also, the tusks of this Nedumgamuwa elephant are not small.its weighs about 450 feet 5 feet long.After sleeping on the floor, it is very difficult for him to lift with his teeth and get back straight.
So the Black uncle made a separate place for him to keep his head separately.Black Uncle was so obsessed with him.
Its leg was naturally injured.Black uncle took medicine in the morning and evening.In those days, even when feeding, considerable care was taken.Also, Black Uncle believed that this animal was a beast.It is very innocent and very calm.but very majestic.Because it was more obedience to Black uncle than anyone else.
Although It was a giant in Asia, as thousands of people watched from the sidelines as the procession progressed, the shackles on both legs were removed for no other reason than their faith in him.This elephant was special even when given food and drink. Black uncle did not allow to eat apples, melons and sugarcane as it was said that high sugar would not heal the wounds on its leg.
He heard that instead of fruits, It ate more cucumbers, figs, coconut leaves and jackfruit leaves.However, even the beast after giving the the tooth relic on his above it had a strange devotion.It's an elephant that has not moved forward, even though it's a bit of a white carpet change the correct way. White carpet is cleared by itself using his trunk

This too was not idle when the procession ended and the Black uncles gathered on their toes and knelt and worshiped the Tooth Relic.It also bent down as much as it could, protected his two tusk, bowed his head and worshiped the Tooth Relic.At all times in the procession, two elephants named Vasana and Indiraja came first for his protection.
You are the only elephant king to carry the tooth relics casket for many years continuely, even though the former Elephant king of the palace carried the tooth relics casket for forty eight years in the Dalada Perahera.Towards the end, he could not even get into a vehicle.So it had to walk everywhere on his foot.Black Uncle was with you everywhere.
One day I had an accident and stopped.After that president decided to provide military security everywhere it went.However, in the end he left with tears in the eyes of all Sri Lankans and others.Even without the Tooth relic , people worshiped it on the street.It's not a merit like that.
You left secretly, leaving us with a lot of memories and love snatched away from us.😥😥
(During the last Esala Perahera, Nedungamuwe elephant king was traditionally made the chief elephant carrying the Tooth relic . While chanting the Pirith and tying the Pirith strings, the elephant had tears in his eyes and it was wiped by his Black uncle.
