I also decided to make a quick sketch of hand bones to decorate my post.
Bones play significant role in our body as they form skeleton and the basis for insertion of muscles, ligaments, to create a cage like rib cage that keeps our chest organs such as heart, lungs safe protecting from any injuries from outside. Our important organs like brain and spinal cord are also protected with strong skull and vertebrae that form our spine. There are also pelvic bones protecting majority of pelvic organs, main vessels and also give a stability for the whole body bones.
The bone must be strong in order to give us an ability to carry on with daily activities and also not to have fractures when we have minor injuries.
The other side of our bone quality is that they are part of the blood forming centre or bone marrow that is a place where many of blood cells been created. That is why in case of any blood disease bone marrow transplant need to be carried out.
There are many important factors that we should keep in mind:
Calcium, it is an important mineral that our bones are build of, it is easy to get enough calcium with diet, they could be found in milk products, cheese, eggs and sometimes even suppliments
Vitamin D is important because it helps to absorb calcium from our food
physical activities, the more movement we exercise the more blood supply to our muscles and bones
some hormone disorder, like parathyroid glad that in the case of overactive gland it will wash out your calcium from bones into bloodstream and make bones easy to break. That condition needs sometimes removal of gland and of course calcium replacement
in elderly people bones become fragile too that is why it is important to make sure your have all necessary supplements
There are some food products important to have in your daily diet such as milk, cheese and also other dairy food. Fish with tiny and thin bones that you do not to remove also help to keep your bones healthy. Some plants like broccoli, cabbage, soya beans, nuts and even tofu can help to maintain your healthy bone status.
