Today I want to talk to you about something that is happening in many parts of the world and that affects everyone's pockets: the uncontrolled printing of money. Yes, although it may not seem like it, this has direct consequences on our daily lives and the price of everything we buy.
I tell you, lately the central banks of several countries, such as the United States and other powers, have turned on the machine to print banknotes. They did it supposedly to face economic crises, help companies and give the economy a “breather.” But you know what? What seems like a quick solution ends up being a time bomb.
Why is this happening? Imagine that in a neighborhood everyone begins to receive free tickets, but the stores continue to have the same amount of food and products. What is going to happen? Exact! Prices go up because everyone has more money, but there are no more things to buy. This, my people, is what we call inflation: when everything starts to cost more and our money loses value.
In countries like Venezuela or Zimbabwe, things got out of control and hyperinflation arrived. A ticket was practically worthless, and people ended up in total crisis. And although in larger countries this does not reach these extremes, we all still feel the blow. The prices of food, gasoline, clothing go up... and salaries never keep up with that pace. Result? We work more, we earn less and everything is done uphill.
Here comes the hardest part: printing money is not a solution, it is just a way to temporarily plug the gap. It's like if you had a leak and, instead of fixing the roof, you put in a bucket. Works? Yes, for a while, but the problem is still there, getting worse.
The real reality, as I like to say, is that this shows that many governments are not managing the economy well. Instead of printing banknotes, they should focus on promoting productivity, creating real jobs and using resources responsibly.
In the end, this situation affects us all. Savings lose value, the salary is not enough and it is increasingly difficult for us to live with dignity. We cannot continue in a system where working so much barely allows us to “half live, half eat, half support ourselves.” It is time for governments to get their act together, because printing banknotes is not the solution, and in the end, we always pay the bill.
