Better Life with Steem | The Diary Game | 24|08|2021 - The Job Scenes

As soon as we complete our education, all we think about is getting a Job or getting into a business. If after completing education someone does not get a job, then the general interpretation is that the person may not be very competent to find a decent job. All these conditioning put so much pressure on an individual that one hardly thinks of enjoying life.

In the Indian culture, even taking a sabbatical is a big thing. Sabbatical is taken in extreme situations like if someone wants to pursue higher education, or if a female is pregnant. This job thing is very complex and I will not deny I have also been in it. My heart would say leave it but my mind will create all the obstacles of ifs and buts, the idea of going without a salary is one thing that fears most of us.

From the time we complete education and get our first job till we retire we are all the time running after our job. Different Countries have different environments around it, I am talking from Indian perspective. Very few people will actually dare to take a break from their jobs and think about doing things that they would enjoy, like taking a long holiday or taking a break to learn something one enjoys.

This is one part of it, and then there is another side also. Once we start working, we get so used to that life, that if the job is taken away from us we will not understand what we will do. We have built up our whole life around that one job and if that is taken away, suddenly there will be complete emptiness. Many people have ended up with major health issues once they have quit their jobs because they do not know how to keep themselves occupied and suddenly, they become inactive which impacts their health.

Well while the job is important to earn money and fend for self and family but making it so very important that we forget that there is life beyond it is not the right thing. There is so much more to life. I personally believe now that after every 10 years of work one should take a break for 1 year and do things that they would love to do. Time flies and if we keep parking everything for a later time, soon we will realize that we have become old.

I think even the Organizations need to amend their work policies and be more flexible with Sabbatical policies. The Companies I worked for in the past, did have these policies but they were only limited to certain situations and one could not take it to do leisure things. This attitude has to change and I am sure with time things will change, specially the big MNCs are now focusing on a work life balance environment and building up their policies in a manner that is more employee friendly.

In my HR experience I have done projects with many Companies, some I see are open to considering these special benefits but there are some who are completely closed to even thinking of it. Especially small sized companies. First of all, their work environment is also not very healthy, most of them work 6 days a week with stringent reporting which suffocates the employee. And times are such that getting a job is also a challenge so I will say it is more of an exploitation also.

I have majorly worked in IT Companies as an HR and we would always joke in our team calling our Company a Manufacturing unit, because though it was an IT Company, it just behaved like a Manufacturing company, where the product were the employees...hehehe

It's high time these shifts happen, so that people work in a healthy environment and that they do not feel pressure with their jobs, rather they would enjoy their work. Majority of the people are unhappy with their jobs and that impacts their overall life.

...then the general interpretation is that the person may not be very competent to find a decent job.

That has been the mindset of many over the decades. This kind of thought needs to be eliminated because not everyone will get a job or work for someone.

@nainaztengra , sometimes it couldn't be possible because of some family responsibilities.
Let me share you in India especially in kolkata salary scale still very low and job opportunities are low.
Only people could get sales job but many can't handle the pressure.

Really this was a big achievement as HR is the most important role in hiring the right people for the right place. And also HR is responsible for maintaining a good working environment. It is remarkable to complete lots of projects.

Very few people will actually dare to take a break from their jobs and think about doing things that they would enjoy, like taking a long holiday or taking a break to learn something one enjoys.

I think 90% of people prefer to get a decent job, the reason is that after doing 20-22 years of hard work, people don't afford many struggles for a long time. Some people have their family responsibilities too.

Yep. That's a great thought. But the economic condition of more than 80-90% of the population would not allow them to even dare to do so. Most people can't afford life insurance coverage, pay their bills on time.. as such taking a break and explore other opportunities is out of question, I FEEL, if their financial future is not taken care of.

But what you wrote is an important aspect to consider if we are to maximize the productivity of India's human resource.

@nainaztengra , my dear darling friend, several times we wish to do many things but everyone has their self struggle and journey;

For that reason we often compromise our desires and maintain professional life.
In india no job will provide such benefits, I worked in several companies and can tell you here HR team doesn't have self opinions, they work as per the operation leader's directions.

Many people have ended up with major health issues once they have quit their jobs because they do not know how to keep themselves occupied and suddenly, they become inactive which impacts their health.

People will never find a problem if they have multiple options of earning money. In the world of the latest technology and forthcoming Artificial Intelligence, many more will lose their job, sadly.

From my point of view, whatever you are doing now, you must be learning something else (plan B, C, D etc) simultaneously. @nainaztengra #affable
