오키나와 여행 준비를 하던 중에, 저도 잘 몰랐던 사실을 알게되었는데요. 바로 오키나와의 역사 입니다.

이렇게 오키나와는 아픈 역사를 가지고 있는 곳이라고 하니, 여행을 가서도 이런 흔적들을 눈여겨 볼것 같습니다. 여행을 위해 일본어를 열심히 공부하고 있긴한데 오키나와 방언이랑 달라서 소통이 잘 안될까요? 걱정되기도 하네요 :(

원래 오키나와 현은 류큐 왕국이었습니다. 1879년 때 병합됐으니 고려, 조선 때만 해도 별도의 국가로서 활동해왔죠. 근데 오키나와 방언이 있긴 해도 현재는 본토의 일본어를 쓰는 사람이 더 많을 겁니다.
비슷한 케이스로 홋카이도 쪽에는 원래 아이누가 있어서 아이누어도 따로 있었다고 하죠.
