Stress is inevitable in life. The key is to learn how to deal with it. Here are three tips.

1. Inprove awareness of your emotions and thoughts.

The next time you feel stressed, try to calm down and observe your reaction. Ask yourself, "What now I feel and what I think." You can focus on where you feel stress in the body (whether your heart beats faster, you lack breathlessness, you sweat, etc.) and write down all these symptoms. More tips on this technique are described in the article: 3 Simple steps to understand your own emotions.

2. Train focus on here and now.

Thinking about the future can quickly turn into anxiety, and discussing the past in rumination. Therefore, in stressful moments it is best to focus on the present. This is not a simple task, it requires training. You can start by observing the environment on the way to work. If you travel by public transport, look out the window and observe what has changed since the last moment. Or take your favorite fruit and eat it very carefully. Observe its color, smell, texture and taste. Take at least a few minutes for it. This technique is called Mindfulness.

3. Abstain from issuing ratings for at least 3 minutes.

Do we not judge and point out everything around us? "That would be better if ...", "They should not have ...", "I would do it differently ...", "This is not fresh enough ...". Fight this automatic habit of judging everything around you. Try to observe something or someone and not to judge or criticize for at least the next three minutes. When you postpone the assessment, you give yourself space for gratitude. And the ability to be grateful is a trait of mentally resilient people.

Have a nice day ☺
