I remember reading this book whilst on the road in Mexico. The simple message of learning to really see the things that are occurring in front of us, and how the mindful eye can submerge us into an incredible state of bliss. I was spending more and more time disconnected from the online world and I realised that I would often find myself subconsciously reaching for my phone even though there was nothing there that could provide me instant gratification. I had to learn to use the environment around me to stimulate my mind and attention. This was the moment I really committed to reestablishing my connection with creativity through photography and writing. I tried to create a relationship with each moment I was experiencing, really soaking up every detail through all of my senses. I began having a passionately touching conversation with the nature around me and remembering that we are never alone in our experiences, the vibrancy of life touches deeply if we really choose to see it.
In this day and age with all the information, it's more important than ever to eliminate to save your peace of mind.

So true! You experience what choose to experience! I remember When I was in this loop of unlucky expeiences... Well, I can't really say that. Those were lessons from which I wasn't learning until I started to really be present in the moment and when I paid atention to what I am outputing. What thoughts I was thinking and what words I was saying. I realized that everything I output I get back.
This was one of the best things that have happened to me!
Now I understand this reality more and more every day and it is just so awesome to be alive and to be able to have these experiences!

Beautiful words! ❤️ Interesting how they prompted my imagination - sizzling hot Mexico, the bliss of being present in the moment, and the rapture that traveling gives.
Traveling is like a really effective way to get away from that ennui and anxiety of everyday life. I've found that during travel trips I can simply put my daily life aside and focus on what's going on now. I have to say that during the hardcore finals-work-deadlines periods I struggle to be absolutely present, because of so much going on in my mind. Writing helps me a lot, I'm exploring my mindfulness and improving.
I feel like there's so much to discuss with you when we meet in real life!

I totally agree, it's very easy to feel present when you are travelling. You have very little stresses and you find yourself saying yes to moments more often. I am definitely struggling a little currently with remaining present in between all that is occurring in my life. That why this post is such a nice little reminder. And I agree, writing does wonders. As much as I love vlogging I also want to share some of my photos and writings with the community.

This book really sounds like one I'd enjoy @neeqi. I can't see it on Audible which is a shame as I tend to listen to many more than I can read. It is always nice to have some paper books though so I will look for this one.
I try to be mindful instead of bored and then the word 'bored' doesn't really even exist. I remember going camping once with a former friend. We set up the tents, lit the fire and sat down. Less than about a minute later he said, "OK, so what do we do now? I'm bored". I replied, "You can do what you like, I'm happy to just sit". He got quit angry at me, which is ok and doesn't bother me, but I wish he'd understood why it's ok to just sit.
This might sound weird and might be off tangent a bit but I enjoy sitting in shopping centres. Not to buy anything but to just experience. Bustling activity all around me, kids running around, people constantly talking, on their phones, hunting for items, forever looking for distractions, while I just sit and absorb it all. It's like being a calm center in the middle of a chaotic storm. I find it very peaceful for some reason as long as I'm observing my internal reality and not reacting to external reality.
