Grasshoppers are small, fast-jumping insects that most of us used to try to catch when we were younger and out of town. Nonetheless, catching them is difficult since these shy creatures are extremely cautious, and even the little alarm causes them to flee to a safe distance, and their jump is so quick that it is practically impossible to detect.
Grasshoppers have whiskers that are longer than their body. Only one out of every ten grasshopper larvae survives the journey from the ground to the surface. They can only travel in a straight line, and if they come across any impediments along the way, they will perish.
