Now and Then

Now and Then.jpg

There’s so much pain

In the empty night,

Where the wind

Has its way

And the only light

Is a headlight flare

From a passing car

And memories

Of what we were.

I'm struggling now

With loneliness

And fear

Uncertain

Of where to go

From here

Lost and numb

As on that day

You left me

In the pouring rain.
