1. What is Meditation?

Thoughts. Thoughts. Thinking. Thoughts. Thinking. Thinking. Thoughts. Thoughts! This is how most people go about their day. Lost in a fog of thoughts. They are caught up in constant mental chatter that they have a hard time being grounded in their present environment. At one extreme, this is the source of anxiety and mental health issues. A person completely drowns in their own thinking, in their own mental noise. Instead of living in reality, they live exclusively in the imaginations in the head.

Meditation is the ultimate life hack to remedy this. It’s a tool to quiet the mind, so that you can come to full awareness and clarity. Not only does it have thousands of years of anecdotal evidence having arisen from spiritual traditions, but it now has the secular, scientific evidence to back it up. (Resources

I made this video to help illustrate our relationship with thoughts, with the intention to help you distance yourself from them, so that you have some "breathing room" from that constant chatter. It's in this space that an experience of peace arises. (I will have new videos every week to amplify this understanding)

There are countless ways to skin the cat. Anything can be turned into a meditation. Whatever gets you out of your head is essentially a meditation. Whether it be a formal sitting practice, dance, music, a walk in the park, or weightlifting. The crucial part in receiving enduring benefits is to practice, practice, practice.
