WE COULD HAVE STARTED A ZOO AT SCHOOL.

I am laughing all by myself thinking of the day we told the children that they could all bring their pets to school.

The only rule was they had to have the animal in a cage or on a leash, bring food for the animal and a bowl to give the animal some water.

In my mind all kid’s had dogs, cats, maybe a lizard or Iguanas.

Oh we could have started a zoo with the animals that came to school.

We never did it again as it was screaming and shouting as some of the children were so scared of the children’s animals.

There were children with snakes and spiders and I cannot even remember some of them. It was really a funny day at school.

It was a Saturday so there were no classes and all the children brought their animals to the rugby field.

It became interesting in time as the children with weird animals could tell the other children about the animals.

I must say, two things I do not like are snakes, and spiders.

I did not tell them as I could not show my fear, as I would have looked foolish.

I just sort of stayed away from the ones I did not like.

We are so inclined to think that children have cats and dogs as animals, until they surprise you with a whole circus.

Every child loved his animal, and that just show you how children differ.

I would never have thought that there were girls who like spiders, and boys who liked cats and dogs.

I would never have thought it possible, but maybe it is a way to find out what they would like to do later in life. She might do scientific work or become a veterinarian.

We always just think they have pets, but sometimes there is a reason for that pet.

She might like some science and we did not realize it before.

She loved all the animals there and it just showed that she definitely had other feelings towards animals than some of us.

The boy with the snake brought an egg and showed them how the snake ate the egg.  I stood a little way, away also looking. I do not think they realized that I do not like some of their animals.

The kids with the lizards brought some flies and it was unbelievable to see how long their tongues were.

It was actually a very interesting day, and there were so many things to look at that I cannot put everything in here.

But the Monday morning this was all the kids were talking about, and it was very nice to know that X box and computers were not the only things they were interested in.

Just remember if you decide to do this at your school, make sure it is over a weekend so they can take their animals with them when they get tired.

There were also budgies and even a crow who the children loved as he could talk, and he did not stop at all so I was wondering who talks such a lot in that house.

This was a very nice and fun project for the children, and they really enjoyed the day even if it was a Saturday.

Hope you enjoyed my true story and have a wonderful day here from the Wild Coast.

Thinking back to childhood it would have been fun to see the teachers face arriving with a dog, duck and budgies. No this type of event never happened for us.

We had such a lot of fun it was really funny.

Hello @methusalem, I could not help but laugh at this post of yours. What a brilliant idea bringing pets to school. I am not keen on snakes or spiders either but it must have been so interesting to see how the kids handled them. And yes this kind of activity is so much better than playstation.
