Today I was trying to work on my next post, but I couldn’t… Why? you ask. Well because I’m angry at my country, I’m angry at the youth nowadays! Let me explain to you guys what is happening in my city.
Lately, my city is full of theft and brutal attacks on normal people! THIS IS NOT NORMAL IN MY CITY FYI!
A group of three guys has been waiting for people to get out of the parties, usually at 4 am, and they ask them for a cigarette, if the person doesn’t have any, or doesn’t comply they follow the question with a brutal beating, for no apparent reason. Four college students are now in the hospital, at least, from my own knowledge, one of them needed surgery.
Now, I’ve encountered these guys before, last Monday they stopped two friends of mine, they thought they were alone, only when they realized I was with them did they stop. Why? you ask. Well I’ve been working out for 4 years, I’m not huge, but I am above average, also I didn’t show any fear, they walked towards me, I walked towards them, I was even laughing while doing it and of course because they are cowards, they don’t mess with more than 2 guys at the same time, they’ve only beat up people that were alone!
Ok, but now you must be thinking “Why are you angry? They didn’t mess with you!”
I’m angry because I know that the only way for the police to do anything, or for them to go jail is for the police to see them in action, and not even them are that dumb! And if I tried to defend myself and they ended up in the hospital, I would be one in trouble. I’m angry at the youth that gets a beating and instead of doing anything they lock themselves in their homes afraid of going out at night.
Now, I’m only 23, I hate violence, my family hates violence, but even my father, after seeing the four guys arriving at the hospital, squirting blood out of their noses, half their teeth knocked out of their sockets, even him told me that “if this was back in my days, there would already be a group of 10 to 15 people walking the streets searching for these cowards who like to beat people 1 vs 3”, if this happened to me you be sure that I wouldn’t stay at home being a coward, and even though I like the police in my small town, I know they can’t do anything, sometimes the people have to do what the police can’t do! Yes, there are laws, if there weren’t laws our society would be a jungle, but sometimes laws don’t lead to justice in my opinion.
Yesterday they beat up another guy, and guess what, this time instead of three people there were four, one of them was a girl that liked to watch… stupid animals!
Should I start going out at night with a weapon? I never went out at night with a knife, but should I? Should we organize a group of people to scare away these assholes for good? I bet if they saw 10 people going against them they would never step foot in our town again... this is like the wild wild west, where robbers entered towns and the townsfolk had to scare them away with guns... Should we just wait for the police to finally be able to catch them, even though everyone knows who they are? What if they start beating up girls too? What if they rape them? I know violence only leads to violence, but sometimes we need to defend ourselves don't you think so?
Something that I think you guys should know, my town is a really small town, we are mostly college students, we almost don't have gangs and the ones we have are only drug dealers dealing with "weed" they don't beat people up, they prefer to get high with their customers... good guy drug dealer
I would love to hear you guys talk about this issue, what would you guys do if you wanted to go out at night, but you couldn’t because of a stupid group of animals that liked to beat people up and the cops were powerless to do anything?

I hear you! There are parts of my city (Milwaukee) that the police won't even go to. People are messed up these days.

Thanks for reading! Yeah, big cities have it worse, maybe it's because I've always been a small city boy that I'm not used to these kinds of things... I still remember the last time my city had a rapist, it lasted for 2 months and I think around 15 women were raped
And ppl can still say humans aren't animals... we are more animals than most animals...

Bah that sounds horrible! I wish there was an easy fix for this, but I think it's like you said, if another group of people would look them up and do the same to them, this new group would get into trouble instead.
I know I would stay inside. Honestly, I hardly trust anyone in the first place and I'm glad I'm not someone who likes to stay up late or even go out at all. This world is getting worse and worse and the soft handling of scum like this is what increases the problems. There are too many people on too small a planet and too many cultures being forced to live together. This stuff can only lead to more problems.

I like to do both, i like to go out sometimes, but i also like to stay home, safe and sound with my blanket.
Soft handling of scum is my main problem! I see all these videos of ppl arguing that the cops took it to far and what not, but sometimes cops have to go that distance to calm things down, yes sometimes it's to much, but sometimes it should be more

Unfortunately this is the world we live in these days, it sucks and it's difficult to know what approach to take. The world is so politically correct and we don't punish people enough for these kind of acts... That being said we also need to ensure the people in power don't abuse such power either.
I'd certainly advise against carrying a weapon though, I've heard some statistic that it's more likely to be used against you than anything else. Besides, you'd go down if you used it so yeah, bad idea.
Buuuut it's hard idk, I, like you, hate violence of any kind (unless in a controlled environment like boxing, boxing is cool) so I'd never promote it. An eye for an eye made the whole world blind. But that being said things do need to change.

Yeah, i totally agree with you, and i've seen those statistics too... but the thing about statistics is that, they tend to benefit the ppl paying for them, so not sure if i believe those statistics.
I also love boxing and fighting sports, the only reason i don't practice them is because i have a torn meniscus, it healed but all those rotations from side to side can screw it again, however, i'm thinking of taking one of those summer muay thai vacations in thailand just for the lols and for the experience.
Things do need to change, the problem is that politicians don't care about changing things, the current system is working for them and against the population, not the other way around, so it's hard...
PS- not me in the picture, i wish i had a ponytail, but i got some bad genes from my grandfather, hair started falling at 18 stopped at 22, at least i didn't have it as bad as my brother, hair started falling at 18... didn't stop, i'm thinking of shaving my head in the summer, but i'm afraid i might look like a nazi...

i hate violence as well. and so sad in one of my home states in florida about the high school shooting that happened yesterday. 14 kids and teachers died because of senseless gun laws in the US - or total lack there of! such a tragedy. im sorry to bring it up on your post but it made me think of it :'(

What is your opinion about the gun laws? In my country we can get a license to carry it, but it's nothing like the USA, it's really hard to get one, only ppl with dangerous jobs can, we can only use it as a last case scenario, and if you use it prepare to spend some time in courts.

i think a lot of americans are in favor of more restrictive gun laws. especially the millennial generation and even in the countrysides (which leans more heavily republican ) i see a lot of leaning towards "don't do away with all guns, but definitely make it way harder to get there". referencing japan i think is something the US could learn from. the problem is not that the country is totally stubborn/ignorant (although in many cases is), but that the lobbying in our country is out of control. basically rich companies and organizations pay off politicians to advocate for their wants/needs. in this case, its the NRA (national rifle association). if guns get banned or harder to buy, of course their pockets get affected. such a BS situation.

I'm from Portugal, and i know exactly what you are saying, the main problem nowadays is capitalism, big corps can do everything they want because laws don't affect them, they are ruining our world, super-resistant bacteria are the result of the pharmaceutical and meat industry greed, hunger in africa and india are a result of greed to, wars in the muslim countries are a result of greed and capitalism.
And the root of the problem imo is ignorace, at least in my country is, most ppl only vote between 2 corrupt governments, when we have 10 or more others that aren't corrupt that they could vote on, almost 50% of the population doesn't even care to get out of their house and vote, they just abstain... well, the strong and smart survive, the others perish, i hope that in a few years, when i finish veterinary school i can get out of this country, only coming back to visit my family and for the holidays (we have great beaches), i prefer to live in a country like holand, or norway, or finland or swedan, at least they aren't as corrupt as my government, and they actually try new things... at least from what i've heard.
If all else fails, i've heard some bitcoin rich guy is building a town in Costa Rica, might as well live there, they might need a vet, i accept payments in cryptos xD

its so true though, I'm just trying to keep my head above all the bs and make my own way. i try not to get too weighed down with politics or news. its sad and like you said, the politicians and governments don't give us much say in the matter either :/
btw i love portugal! absolutely beautifullllll beaches! and i love the US as well but its true - many problems. ideally ill be financially independent and remote working so i can find freedom in that. lets all hope crypto shoots back up so we can all live a little easier, and take some power away from big corps in the meantime:D

The only corp i don't want to take power from, i would actually love to give power to is elon musk's corps! Tesla, spacex, solar city, etc... elon is my role model as a men and as a scientist

and I'm a big elon fan as well! I'm actually part of an organization that was founded originally to partake in the SpaceX hyperloop competition - so we're all pretty big Elon fans :) finally got to see him in person over the summer, but didn't get to talk face to face. thats the next goal ;p
