I want to Lose It

in weight •  8 years ago

Losing weight is hard. I am 5.11 and currently weigh around 208lbs. I am not obese but I was. In April 2017, my weight was 225lbs. Something happened back in April. I liked a girl, she is petite. So, that was a big motivation.

Back in 2011, I was around 170 - 180lbs and cold run a mile in 6 min - 8 mins. Then the obvious happened, I gained weight.
And fitness went down with increasing weight. I still want to lose at least 8 lbs. I am pretty happy with my current progress though. I am watching what I eat. No junk, no processed, lots of veggies and fruits - pretty simple diet. Snacking on nuts and raisins / cranberries.
Exercising 5 days a week, right now I have the muffin top though. Man I must admit, the people who say age is just a number, they are drunk or high. Age matters. Getting back my fitness was never harder before. My body takes more time to recover, I cannot work out for longer, and old injuries are problem. So, do you guys want to share your experiences?

I'm 39 and I've struggled with my weight since i was about 30. I was a hardcore drug addict into 27 and within 3 years i went from 160 to 260. Then i quit smoking and went to about 280 within 3 months. Then a divorce and went to 314.
Then i got really lonely and one day i went for a walk. Then the next. Then a run. Within 10 months i lost 80 pounds. Then i fell in love and got remarried. Then injured my knee. Then gained all the weight back and even more. I've been yo yo'ing ever since.

Thanks for sharing bro, I am glad you found love :) that is the best thing that can happen

I lost 58 lbs in less than 9 months by making one simple change - I stopped drinking soda and avoided sugar. To satisfy my sweet tooth I switched to Splenda & Truvia. I realized that sugar triggers hunger. I still crave junk food so I use the "out of sight - out of mind" technique when it comes to stocking my kitchen. Cheers @abhirooo85.

yeah, I get it, unfortunately people at work wont stop making trips to donut shops :P . Thanks for sharing your impressive story
