The Problem With Low Carb High Protein Diets

in weight •  3 years ago  (edited)

If you've tried one of these diets before, you've probably noticed that your pee turns yellow. Ketones, a by-product of ketosis, are to blame for this. This is proof that your body is breaking down and burning muscular tissue, which is made up of protein. This is harmful because if too much of your body's protein is broken down, your liver and kidneys may suffer irreversible damage. Muscle breakdown manifests itself as general weakness, weariness, and a lack of vitality.

Another factor to remember when following a Low Carb/High Protein diet is that your body breaks down fatty acids and changes them to ketones and acetones, which are used as fuel. As a result, your body begins to lose vitality.
