Sometimes it's amazing how much things can change in a day. Yesterday I didn't feel good and didn't run well, today felt much better and had a great run in the morning warm weather, hills and all. Still, it's very humbling to think of the daily efforts the 8 runners in the 3100 mile run in NY are putting in no matter the weather or physical/mental pains they might be experiencing. So when I feel tired after my 8 miles today I can think about how they will be running well over 50 miles today and doing that effort for another 1500 or so miles - makes my fatigue seem so trivial. So as I look forward to and train for my next ultra in 4 short months I can watch these amazing and wonderful people and hopefully carry a small, small , very small part of their power with me.
