Looking around the office building of Nakaneupseong in Suncheon, Korea

in busy •  6 years ago

Nakaneupseong was the capital of this area in Choson dynasty. So there was the local government in this fortress. Usually the chief of this local government was military officer.

There was the local government office building in the northern area of the fortress.
While walking to the office building, there was a monument for a general who had governed this fortress.

He was a very brave officer, but killed by his political opponents in the government.
So people had set up this monument to appease his revengeful spirit.

It is strange the royal people had been killed so often by the bad people through Korean history.

The place where I got to was the resident building for King’s messenger. At that time King’s messenger was as same as King. So the building for King’s messenger was the most important in the office buildings.

The local governor should had served the special courtesy ceremony for King every month in this building.

There was a red gate in front of the official building.

This building was called “Gaeksa” meaning the building for guest.
But this building was the center of the office building in Choson Dyanasty.

_4140372.JPG

_4140374.JPG

After looking “Gaeksa”, I got to the main office building in the name of 'Dongheon' meaning the east building. Here the east is from the “Gaeksa”

_4140382.JPG

The governor was working in this building. He had took charge of 3 powers, legislation, administration and judicial settlement.

_4140384.JPG

The judicial settlement was very important job for the governor.

Below is the jail.

_4140455.JPG

There was a living space for the governor. The governor could not bring his wife to the designated area. He should had lived there alone. His families had not been allowed to live together to prevent from the corruption.

_4140388.JPG

So there were romantic stories between the governor and Gisaeng who had been the entertainer in Choson dyansty. Gisaengs were the specialists for music and dance.
Sometimes there were so talented Gisaengs in literature.

I’d like to introduce their lives when I could gather up the materials of Gisaeng.

The inside of kitchen for the governor was well preserved, and some resident women were playing a role of the housemaid.

Below is the gate of the living house of the governor.
The sky and the clouds were so awesome

man, your snaps are magical! What camera do you use and do you touch them up after or are they "natural"?

This feels like a different world than western civilization, which is why I'm so fascinated by this (although I suppose the idea of the powerful killing the just is universal...).

Love the architecture. That last photo is dramatic.

Korea is a good place for tourism!

Wow friend! Breathtaking photos and very amazing places you visit. Which camera do you use?

Yes in the old days everything was solved a murder. To overthrow the king or the objectionable person to come to the purpose, or to seize his property and the power. Intrigue and cruelty. Now all this is also present in the world of money and power. Only now people act more sophisticated. The murder was replaced by virtual wrestling, wrestling in Mass media. If you want to defeat your opponent, then kill him with rumors and slander. Blacken his name and you will achieve your goal.

Wow... i always see these views in korean novela entitled "Love in the moonlight". The series portrays about love, politics, power, family and greediness of power. It really happpens before or somewhat like part of Korean history. I never thought that this place is real too. I only see these on TV or movies. I hope one day I could visit the place and feel the life inside that gate. Nice capture @slowwalker.

Asian architecture is very special. It is sober and, at the same time, very elegant.

So unique and interesting to see this @slowwalker. Maybe some day I will get an opportunity to see such beautiful areas as this. Did the Governor and KIng live in the same area ??

It's great to know Korea thanks to you, I've really known many wonders that I did not know, although I had heard many because I am a lover of that country, I was always attracted to their things, and everything began to love their food, I have a Korean friend who has told a lot about his country I think his way of telling the wonders of his country made me love him too

I definitely gotta learn more about the Choson dinasty, since I feel so interested in Korean history and culture. Beautiful buildings, beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing!

The place looks amazing, I have always been fascinated by Western culture and the way in which they always strive to preserve it over the years

I thought it was real! It was a statue! Hahaha... But am really amazed that they still preserve the place. Are there are any materials that are not original except the statue? Because maybe other things are already renovated and replaced?

Wow. The buildings look pretty interesting, especially in a natural setting like this. I was wondering what are these women cooking?
