In a saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Fry the finely chopped onion for 5 minutes.
Pass the garlic through a press, add to the pan to the onion and cook for another minute.
Season the garlic onion with salt, pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and curry.
Put pumpkin puree with sugar in the same saucepan and cover with broth.
After boiling, cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
Add coconut milk and bring to a boil. Garnish with pumpkin seeds and herbs before serving.
