I come reporting news that I didn't think I would even end up saying: Jason is still sticking to his crash diet even though the holidays are among us. Now there is always the possibility that he is "playing for the cameras" even though I haven't told him I am logging him on this and I also don't take any pictures of him.
As I have mentioned before I am very suspicious of his, and anyone else's crash diet rather than a regular diet that focuses on permanent and what I consider to be "normal" changes to one's overall eating habits. I am not a big believer in sudden and radical changes to one's diet because I have seen it fail almost every time not just with people I know but with people who follow some influencer's advice on a YouTube channel.
Jason has gone all in on his strange fasting diet that consists of almost no restrictions on what he can eat, just on when he can eat. Between certain hours of the day - which are almost certainly his favorite times of day - he is allowed to eat as much of anything that he desires. However, the clock is ticking and once those hours are done he is not allowed to eat anything or drink anything that has any calories in it at all. Therefore we see him out drinking a lot of diet Coke during the rest of the day.

Jason is a big boi that has spent many years of his life quite obviously living irresponsibly. He is probably about twice as big as he should be and very little of this is in the form of muscle. He is incredibly lazy and putting exercise into the mix was never, unfortunately, going to happen with him. He doesn't even think about doing any of it now and this is not at all a surprise.
I have to say that after watching him for over a month I am quite impressed with his dedication. I have only seen him cheating a couple of times and based on what I know about the guy and how much of a glutton he tends to be, I honestly wouldn't have given him any chance at sticking to this crazy diet of his. When I do see him out, which is almost every time that I go out, I find him drinking a diet Coke and almost never deviating from this. When the food is served to anyone, he doesn't partake.
So even though I am a nay-sayer when it comes to the overall efficacy of this sort of diet plan I do admire his fortitude as far as resisting the urges to cheat "just a little bit." This is good because a little always becomes a lot and he hasn't at least as far as I can tell, succumbed to the pressure.
Now here is the bad news: I have not seen any noticeable change in his body composition. I think the next time I see him I will ask him if he has actually lost any weight or if he feels any better in his day-to-day life. The absence of alcohol almost certainly means that he is going to feel a bit better because in addition to being a glutton as far as food was concerned he was also quite the lush when it came to drinking beer.
I wish Jason the best and I sincerely hope that this diet works. I just don't think it is sustainable because honestly, have you ever heard of someone that only eats for 3 hours a day for any prolonged period of time? I feel as though there is almost no way that this can be healthy in the long run but who knows? Almost all of what we knew was a definitive fact about nutrition when I was a kid has been revised and debunked, so maybe he is onto something here? My hope is simply that he doesn't revert once he reaches some sort of target goal and then balloon back to where he began or even worse, end up weighing more.
At any rate; it is good to see that he decided to do something, even if it isn't the path that I would take. There is more than one way to the finish line as far as weight loss is concerned and if this ends up working for him, I will congratulate him.
After a very active childhood and 20's, I became a fat ass in my 30's. Then in my 40's I lost an extraordinary amount of weight and gained more muscle than I have ever had in my life. I didn't think it was difficult but it did take dedication and patience. If I can do it, I think almost anyone else can do it as well
