People experience complex psychophysiological states called emotions due to environmental, spiritual, physical, and other reasons. Emotions and their management are crucial to daily life. For this reason, "emotion" is the focus of numerous scientific investigations.
Because emotions are one of the most significant tools that inspire individuals and are affected by their thoughts and perceptions. What are repressed emotions?
How do they appear? We can quickly clear such question marks if you like. Not all emotions are freely experienced. Sometimes people repress their feelings unhealthily.
Perceptions of social beauty, the desire to be accepted, and retiring to avoid ridicule are common in society. Because they will be condemned or rejected, the person represses their emotions.
In this situation, they may become introverted. They can even act against their will. As you can see, this is unhealthy. Long-term, it can harm a person's mental and physical health and relationships.
Childhood traumas are a major cause of some repressed emotions. Because shocking unfavourable situations or emotions at a young age produce numerous psychiatric disorders or negative behaviours.
Repressed emotions might be triggered by particular events. Parental or other authority figures' repressive and judgemental behaviour as a child is a triggering factor.
A child who receives unanticipated unfavourable reactions when expressing emotions may desire to be quiet to avoid a similar reaction. Without correction, the person may internalise this behaviour and make it a habit. This makes the person hesitant to communicate their emotions.
They may consider discussing their emotions "unnecessary" and avoid it. People find trivialising some feelings charismatic after a while, which makes disclosing repressed emotions difficult.
Because ignoring a situation that would ordinarily cause major anguish or worry may make a person feel more charismatic. In situations where they cannot keep silent, they may react minimally.
They may assume others find their unresponsiveness charismatic. This behaviour is a ruse to hide actual feelings. But this mask waits for the moment when the victim is defenceless.
Thus, even if a person appears optimistic and unaffected in a terrible scenario, they suffer more since they don't share their sentiments. Repressed feelings can be worse in such instances.
Many people struggle with emotion suppression. Social life has become increasingly individualised, especially today. However, people repress some feelings in school, work, family, and friends.
Supressing emotions might prevent a person from enjoying many things. They may even act harmfully. Being aware of suppressed emotions is crucial. How can you detect suppressed emotions? This circumstance has what symptoms?
