242,812 Total Team Reps (+3,951 added) - Steemit Daily 100+ Rep Fitness Challenge - Day # 100 - 3/16/18

in fitness •  7 years ago  (edited)

3 new Steemians! Please welcome @rj1 from the USA, @rjunaid12 from INDIA, and @faizan07! We're now on our 100th straight day.

**I might start posting more around this time going forward to try to catch more eyes during a different time slot. I'm going to experiment a bit with the timing, so thanks for being flexible.

Daily Update: 17 Steemians (new max) for 3,951 reps today (242,812 overall by 37 people from 10 countries in 99 workout days).

The Challenge:

At least 100 honest reps of exercise every day. No excuses. No bullsh*t. Just actions, positivity, and results. Only post AFTER your reps are done. Always support each other.

  • You choose what types of exercise reps to do.
  • 30 minutes of fitness walking, running, spinning, biking, cross-country skiing, etc., can count as 100 reps if you need to rest or can't use weights.
  • I'll award 1 SBD for every 10,000 rep milestone you hit. (11 SBD paid)
  • I run the numbers daily which is sometimes harder than my reps.

Conditions:

  • Weights not required.
  • Do real reps with good form, aiming for 100+.
  • Start your reply with "Challenge Completed".
  • Reply with a list of the exercises and reps you did.
  • Cumulative tallies are appreciated as a separate line.
  • Only submit reps you've done, not ones you're planning to do.
  • Use the tag "fitnesschallenge" on associated posts.
  • Upvoting or resteeming is appreciated to reach more.

Advice:

  • Stretch before and after exercise.
  • Breathe properly on each rep.
  • Quality over quantity.
  • Eat a healthy snack after and stay hydrated.
  • Start with exercises you enjoy to build up for harder ones.
  • Take before pictures to appreciate results over time.
  • Feel good about your accomplishments.

My Daily Challenge Completed - 100 reps:

-50 Calf Bar Raises (75 pounds)
-50 Air Squats

My Daily Assessment:

I have a practice baseball game this weekend, and may need to pitch an inning or two in cold weather, so I want to take it easy on the weights to be fresh for that. It's going to be tricky mixing workout with my game schedule, so I'll have to figure out low-impact exercises that won't have me sore or fatigued to impact my performance.

Feedback from @mightpossibly:

"I find it deeply satisfying to do these reps, which is a big deal. I've always hated the gym and prefer to exercise at home. But I've lacked the discipline to do it. It sort of feels like I have gym buddies now, without the hassle of going to the gym."

Feedback from @notorious562:

"I seriously cannot explain how much this group pushes and motivate me to keep working harder. I love this fitness community and the support and encouragement will help us achieve our goals."

Feedback from @khufu:

"Your challenge has helped immensely to keep me motivated lately. I've had a lot of... problems going on so your challenge has been a quantum of sanity in an insane world for me."

Please support our hard work and dedication and ask any questions in the comments below.

Please also resteem this new format/replace in your post links if you don't mind to try to get a fresh start on spreading the word on our challenge.

Welcome to the group! I can see you are passionate about fitness with the reps you put in for the day. Sorry for being a bit harsh with the other day. Thanks for clearing everything up and I can't wait to see what you bring to the group! Great job today!

Thank you. I appreciate it

Nice workout. I appreciate the detail. I'll add these up this time, but in the future, could you please put the total # of reps for me so it's easier and more accurate to process for the charts and post?

30 mins of cardio counted = 100 reps + 254 weight reps = 354 reps

Thanks for clearing up the air on the other thing.

Yeah sure I will do that. And about the other thing, I didn't intended to offend anyone.

Trademill (30 mins HIIT)

Great work! Keeping killing it my friend.

Welcome. Counting 1 hour of cardio for 200 reps and 120 exercise reps for 320 if I read it right.

Please help me by summing up your rep totals as it takes me a bit of time to assemble the numbers from everyone. 30 minutes of cardio = 100 reps. You only get another 100 reps of cardio if you reach 60 minutes, and so forth.

I m weak in.maths

Challenge Completed - 820 reps

I think if us aussies keep posting our blogs we cover of this time zone fairly well :)

Probably not tomorrow since I will be running a half marathon.

Thank brother it went well 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 12 minutes 40 seconds. I hear that it was a pretty average time. Honestly, I was just happy to finish the race and scratch it off the bucket list.

Nice one bud, it would have killed me but at least you finished it. Next goal is to beat it by 30 seconds ;)

Yeah goal is to do a few more half marathons and then work my way up to a marathon. I told you I also was working on my cardio. Ha Ha

Haha bring it on bro. I'm really motivated again to push myself and see where I can take it :D

Well I should be back in business on Monday! Say hello to major rep counts coming soon!

Tomorrow is the big day I have officially signed up for a half marathon. I have been reducing my reps each day to help make sure my body will be able to finish the challenge of my first ever half marathon. Wish me luck!!!

Great back workouts! T-bar rows were always a bit more challenging for me. Just a word of advice for the future to ensure you get the right rep count please total your rep count so @steemmatt can add it to your count.

Once again welcome to the crew and I wish you nothing but success. Everyone here will always have your back and support you on your fitness journey.

Okay i for sure will give the total amount of reps from next time... As a newbie it will happen for sometime..

No worries! Just helping you out, that's what we do here. That was me a few weeks back. Just keep putting in the work and we will continue to motivate you.

Yeahh i have been already motivated.... So it feels great to be a part of the team.

Thanks!

Welcome to the team :)

Thank you so much it's sought of motivation for me now to exercise daily and post it here.

Counting a total of 184 reps if I read this right. If you were doing 3 sets of 30, etc., let me know for next time. A final tally will help clear any confusion for us if you can. Nice day. Maybe add some back extensions for the lower part.

Thanks for the advice... Anyways yes 184 reps in total... Next time i will give total detail

I finally got to my target today and achieved 100 squats at a stretch, then did 70 push ups(40 +30), 30 sit ups, 30 leg lifts, 30 ankle touches, 30 bicycle kicks and 1 minute plank(12 reps). I can feel the strain in my groin, thighs and lower abdomen from pushing my limit. I intend to push even further subsequently.

Total:302 reps.

My next target is to do 50 reps each of the abs exercises(leg lifts, ankle touches, sit ups and bicycle kicks) and do more push ups. My body feels a lot lighter despite the pain though

Start a 50 sit up challenge! LOL

Lol maybe when my six pack is fully formed. I'm sorry I always forget to post my comments in the 50 push ups challenge. I'll make an effort to do so from now on. Its a Sunday morning and I'm about to start my morning work out.

No pain. No gain. Well done Mr. Belemo.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahaha, 1/4 IT guy? I mean, that's what I get paid the monies for... but I'm honestly not that good at it. I'm just good at tricking people that I'm good enough to pay.

International Steem Fitness community is growing! I like it a lot.

I'm not exactly sure how to qualify this... but I only did a 30 minute yoga session on Friday...

Yoga

How many reps would that be? It's not full on cardio or anything, but it's still work, that I'm terrible at.... 50 reps? 100 reps?

@ninjamike does an hour of yoga at times and suggested 100 reps for that. I don't have an issue with 100 reps for this since I'm sure you did it intensely enough. It was for P90X, which isn't a walk in the park.

The only catch is to balance out Mike's 100 for an hour with your 100 for 30 if you do this often enough. It might even be the same program actually.

He either becomes 200 reps, or maybe you tack on some light body weight reps. You're doing the work, and it's not the end of the world, so tell me what is most suitable.

No problems at all. I'd prefer to step up... so I'll tack on some body weight reps to even it out with the other great ninja in the team.

Ninjas Unite!

It depends on the level of yoga I guess, I did yoga for about a year and it's tougher than it looks that's for sure

Daily Challenge Completed - 100 reps:
-50 Calf Bar Raises (75 pounds)
-50 Air Squats

Those squats tho!!!! Nice keep killing it brother!

Hot air squats! Just trying to take it easy. Once I get 225 on a bar, then I'll be able back in business.

Hey squats are squats! even without the 225 I am sure your working on your form and technique.

Daily Challenge Completed- 100 reps

10 sets of 10 pull ups.

Had a nice pump after that! Keep on pushin people !

I started practicing two days earlier, I just go through the treadmill, cross strainer and cycling. And do a little bit of exercise, I just want to reduce my belly fat, any advise for me?

If you do 30 full minutes of cardio work, you can post what you do here and give yourself a reason to/accountability continue to produce results. Any cardio work that is 30-59 minutes is 100 reps, and 60-89 minutes is another 100, etc..

Please only post reps you do approximately within the day of my post, given that time zones impact things a bit. Two posts for two different workout days on a blog post of mine wouldn't count.

Consistency is key. I don't do many reps, but I do them in some way every day, and that has given me very good results in a short time. Your body will change if you give a reason to, and that requires regular effort beyond your comfort zone.

I will upload my daily reps

Haha if you wan't to build muscle I'm good at that, but my weight loss skills are the pits.

Dailiy Challenge not completed - 0 reps

Unfortunately no time for sports today, had to work until after midnight.

No worries. Thanks for the comment.

Great challenge initiative by you....Its really very interesting challenge but good for our fitness....@steemmatt... I mostly appreciate your good motivated article....Thanks for sharing such awesome article.... I like this type of article...

Exercising your fingers doesn't count :P

Let's see you give us some reps so we can appreciate you more.
