i took a caffeine supplement a couple of times but honestly it made me feel bit shaky and "jacked" if you know what that means. There is a coffeeshop outside of my gym and I have found that simply drinking a big actual coffee before going in ,or a shot or two of espresso has about the same result.

Yes I know. Glad to hear your problem, maybe it might help others with this issue.
What might be the problem is that the supplement has something else inside the doesn't suit you. Or, it gets absorbed to quickly so you have faster reaction, instead of coffee drink that is absorbed slower.
Try to know the quantity of caffeine. Maybe this might help you .
