Why do you need to use noise cancelling earbuds? 5% for SL-Charity

This is my opinion about noise cancelling earbuds. If you do not know, an earbud has the same common functionality as a headset but with some extra addons. These do not have wires which are very easy to use. We just have to connect it through bluetooth. The range is almost 10m+ almost every earbud brand in the market. So we do not have to worry about the range.

If you are using a very cheap headset, you need to think twice because those are not probably calibrated according to the regulations. Most of the headsets I have seen in Sri lanka are direct one to one copies from original products. So we can not expect any protection from those. So my advice is to think twice when buying a cheap headset or earbud. Cheap means low quality, that’s it.

Today, my main point is noise cancelling. You may already know from my previous posts, what is noise cancelling? If you do not know it is cancelling out external sound from generating an opposite sound wave. This works almost every high end earbud these days. But since the algorithm is, we can see some difference.

I use Apple Airpods Pro. Those are the kind of noise cancelling earbuds. Apple is the brand who introduced these types of products to the market and now it’s a huge industry. I didn't travel in the past because of covid. But now I have to travel everyday to work. I really love my Airpods because they really help me to stay calm. In Colombo it's normally over 80dB. Hearing those sounds for an extended period of times damages ears. So, the choose is yours.

Apple, Samsung, Oneplus, Huawei, Sony, Jabra, JBL, Bose, Beats are some of the popular brands who create those noise cancelling headsets. I think you can find a good one starting from 20,000lkr. Yeah, I know the price is very high right? But if you are travelling everyday, if you are living in a very noisy environment you will not be disappointed.
