Umpiring in any game is not easy. A right decision and a wrong decision turn the match stance, along with the life of the umpire. The umpire is expected to take the right decision in any case.

Even after facing so much pressure, some umpires have done their work in a very comfortable manner. Some umpires have made their name immortal in cricket history. Due to the merits of these umpires, they received a lot of praise from the players as well as the organizers.

1. Tony Hill

Anthony Lloyd Hill aka Tony Hill is the New Zealand umpire. From 1998, he started his international career. The ICC sent him as the umpire for umpiring a number of international matches. In 2009, he was included in the ICC Elite Umpires Panel.

Stephen Anthony Buckner or Steve Buckner is one of the most experienced umpires in cricket. Before umpiring cricket, he used to work as a referee in football matches. In 2007, he was banned for some time due to his wrong decisions in the Test match between Australia and India. He returned after a few months, but announced his retirement in 2009.

He received the ICC Umpire of the Year title for 5 consecutive times. In 2012, he called the umpiring as Alvida. He is currently working in the ICC as an umpire performance and training manager.

David Shepherd also played cricket as a batsman before umpiring. In 1981, David started the innings. He also officiated in the 1983 World Cup. In 2008, he took retirement.
