태국의 인권위원회-이하 인권위-는 재계가 결정한 Paraquat사용에 대하여 심각한 인권침해로 규정하고 제소에 들어 갔습니다. 태국 정부는 재계의 요청에 따라 2019년 11월까지 사용을 허가 하였으나 인권위는 농민의 유독성 물질에 노출은 인권에 심각한 침해를 준다고 판단하고 관련된 업체 및 관련기관과 공청회를 갖고 사용 금지를 하겠다고합니다.
태국 정부는 심각한 문제를 초라하는 파라퀏의 잠정 사용 허가로 환경 활동가들의 경고를 받고 있습니다. 전세계 대부분의 국가가 파라퀏의 사용을 금지 한 생태입니다.
해당 농약은 스위스에 본사를 두고 있습니다.
