Motivating the Un-Motivated - Why You Need mentors For Your Life Success

in life •  4 years ago

Motivating the Un-motivated is an interesting proposition. If you can make someone to be motivated, it is a surety that they will become more motivated, right? Well, maybe not all the time, as we all know human behaviour can change and it is even possible for one person to become more motivated than the next. However, most of the time it is the un-motivated who lose their initial drive.

There are many ways in which you could achieve motivation. You might motivate yourself by your own effort. It might be something very simple like saying you will do something more than average or even something silly like running a mile under the speed of a rocket or walking a marathon. You could even motivate yourself by something like winning some sort of award. The motivation has to be tangible. How would you feel if you were given an award for performing extremely well in a competition?

There are other methods used to gain motivation, but they don't last. For example, you might have been great in sports and you won some really amazing competitions. These results would provide you with enormous self satisfaction. However, unless these results are actualized in the real world there is very little incentive for you to keep performing to the same level.

Motivating the un-motivated is very much the same as having a false sense of security. In fact, you should be careful not to get your hopes too high because this can be destructive. For instance, if you think you might be eligible for promotion at work in six months time, you may end up setting yourself up for failure and disappointing yourself.

Many people try to achieve motivation by convincing themselves that they are capable of achieving far more than they actually do. They often convince themselves that they can accomplish things that they have never even tried before. However, this is rarely the case. People who have never tried something before are usually very motivated. However, they lack the necessary drive and confidence that can make them go all out in trying their best.

People should be encouraged rather than discourage, if they have the ability to do great things. For instance, if you had talent as a child, you would most likely become very good at playing the instrument. This talent would give you a natural enthusiasm for music education. However, it is very difficult to carry this interest into adulthood and become a very good musician. This kind of un-motivation can prevent people from pursuing their goals in adulthood and in some cases, it can even cause people to fail.

It is important to surround yourself with people who can understand what you're doing and who believe in you. If there are people around you who understand the good things about you and who see your potential, you will have a lot more motivation. The truth is, most people who have enough drive eventually become very successful. There are many examples of very successful individuals who had to struggle and never thought they would become the person that they are today. They simply had the drive and determination to persevere.

These are some of the major reasons why it is important to keep people motivated. People can go through a lot of changes and difficulties. These obstacles and changes do not necessarily mean they have failed at anything. These obstacles may just be part of life and sometimes, these struggles are very similar to challenges you may encounter when trying to motivate yourself. This is the reason why you should try to get a mentor. Motivating the un-motivated is not as easy as it seems so you might need someone to guide you.
