In recent times, meditation is becoming a recognised practice in the mainstream culture , however this was a exercise which was done for centuries throughout history. Technology and the advancement of science has gone on to favour the practice of meditation as scientists have found multiple health and physical benefits.
People come in many forms, some are outgoing and social, some are quiet and reserved whilst other's are in between, and have multiple traits. I myself was an introvert by nature but was capable of being outgoing if I tried. I didn't like the way I was because it gave me fewer opportunities to adapt to different circumstances and environments. I always wanted the freedom to travel or stand on my own two feet but would stop when given the opportunity. Usually I knew this was down to my own personality, I would make so many plans, but then have no self-belief that I could actually carry it out.
So I started researching, infact I started reading books on how to be outgoing and social, books on how to be a great leader, I spent hours after hours reading and collecting information & I was great at doing so because I was an introvert, so I had all the time in the world sitting in my bedroom. I was able to learn different techniques and built on my psychological advantage over those who I spoke with. But I was still nervous, stressed at every occasion, depressed at the way I was and still felt closed of. So I kept reading on, I spoke with a friend and he happened to mention something very interesting about meditation and it's benefits, don't get me wrong I researched it well and thoroughly, I was sceptical but when he repeatedly urged me to try, I was more inclined to give it a go.
I started practicing daily during the nights most preferably, usually when everyone had gone to bed, I would pick one specific secluded spot in my home and for 10 minutes I would just breath, think and focus on my heart. I would feel light going into my heart and I would literally forget about every thought of the day. I didn't know what I was doing! Believe me I was quiet lost, but what I do know is, from that moment on I wasn't the same person.
And that's exactly how it happened, I started practicing the best technique ever which literally changed my entire mindset, it gave me an entire new approach to life, built my confidence, killed all depression and anxiety and made me a free man. Practicing meditation for a minimum of 3-4 days in a row could reduce stress, help the brain regulate emotions, and help extinguish anxiety. You would literally become a changed person in less than a week, your mind is alot calmer then usual making it easier to handle difficult situations.
