TEACH CHILDREN TO READ WITH UNDERSTANDING.

Why is it so important to love and motivate children?   

We as grownups think that they should think like us, and do what we  do as well as being hard working.  

How can we expect a child to know all  these things?   

It is as if babies are born big these days, not big in size but in  knowledge.  

I am sure that my grandchildren know so much more than my  children did at that age.

Maybe it is because we let our children play more and saw little  of them as they were outside.   

We did not have television or cell phones  in those days.  

They use to have animals to play with as well games they  always played outside.

Today we can say maybe they were slower than children are  today, but believe me when the time came, with television, computers,  and cell phones they did catch up fast.   

The problem came that we as older people did not catch up so quickly or at all.  

I know a lot of older people who do not even know how to  switch on a computer.  

So who was better off?

The children born with all these gadgets at their fingertips,  or our children that had to learn later in life.  

Here I think you have a  right to your own opinion, I personally think my children stayed children longer than most of them do today.   

Childhood is so short; it is if you just wink then your children are grown up.   

I really think that schools should try to keep these things away from them as long as possible.  

Please let them play.

Teach them how to keep themselves busy with board games, and most important to me let them read.  

My daughter is an adamant reader, and because of that I think she is  ahead of people who just know how to type and think out something to  write about on steemit as they do not all specialize in certain  subjects.  

If you know about cryptocurrency and some of these subjects  that we as old people know nothing about, they mostly go for anything to  write about.

Then there are people who write about their specialty like making  food.  

I love those posts because you always see something you can  learn, that you never knew before.

Then there are people who travel, and travel blogs are as nice  as it is as if you are busy traveling with them for they get to places  you will never see.

I can carry on like this for ages, but as old people we like writing about our work we use to do, and teaching our children how to get  through life the best way possible.   

This is what makes steemit my favorite pastime as now that I am not  working anymore, I can cook, travel, see the most beautiful paintings  that some people do, and enjoy every minute of it.   

Being old has so many advantages.  You can read what you want on  steemit and just live yourself into that story.  

So getting back to who  is better off, I do not really know, yet I know my children had  wonderful childhood, and they did catch up with the ones that were born  with all these things at their fingertips.   

I think the only advantage that the older people have is that they  have read a lot and therefore have more knowledge about how to read with  understanding.  

I must say that nowadays I find all children read  fluently, but ask them a question about what they have just read and  they have no idea because they do not read with understanding.   

To me that is scary. So please teach your children to read with  knowledge before you let them start playing games on the computer or x  box. 

These they will not need when they are grown up, but they will have  to be able to read with understanding.   

I see that even children at university are struggling because they  work through long pieces of work for their subject yet; they have to do  it over, and over until they understand what they were reading.  

You lose  such a lot of time if you do not understand what you are reading.

So moms and dads let your children play with their computer games and  x box for a certain time a day, but then let them read at least one  chapter of a storybook until they learn to understand what they are  reading.  

This could make life so much easier for them all.
