The Ruined Place of The Temple of Goryeo Dynasty.

in travel •  6 years ago

Bowon-sa temple was built in Goryeo dynasty, but it was ruined and nothing was left except some stone structures. It was about 5 o’clock when I got there. The sun was sinking down slowly over the hill.

The ruined place was wide. The wide openness made this place even desolate.

As turning to the the other side, I could find wonderful landscape.
The waters always make the landscape affluent even in desolate circumstances.

There were many relics scattered on the ground. What attracted me at first were the large stone water basin and the stone flag pole holder. Both of them were listed as the treasury.

In my guess, this stone flag pole holder seemed the tallest among what I ever have seen.

Let me introduce the relics of this place more detail in next posting.

@slowwalker,
Just imagine if this temple was not ruined, how beautiful it is! It's a shame, war or whatever reason such wonderful and sacred places are destroying! I am awaiting to see your next post to see relics around this place! Thank you!

Better time you went there coz sunlight goes down that time and no more need to be tired. Sure it's ruined place. Really flat area they built up Bowon-sa temple. Some of stone relics protected there. Very interesting. The relics and that hill is so full of green brush. Look forward to seeing more detail in the next post

The landscape is super beautiful. Do they still consider it holy grounds beyond the relics? Or actually, the correct question would be.... how far is still considered holy grounds? Would love to make it there one day and take a tour from your posts :)

that's a place i would not have seen ever but thanks to you for sharing this place through the post awesome to see that

Great place. The beauty of nature involuntarily overshadows the beauty of sculptures and monuments.

It is a beautiful place and having the temple would make the view even more beautiful than it is. Can I know what happened to the tempo that is in ruins?

역사의 산물과 맑은 하늘이 참 잘 어울립니다.

amazing pictures! nature is love.

Great photography. This really looks like to be out in the middle of nature. Love the hills and forests in the background. Really old architecture as well. I wonder what it looked like in its prime...
Good job!

Spectacular view
