Bajai Life Camp 18.08: Day 520
Brentwood
Thursday November 8, 2018
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
179.4 lbs.
28.47% overwhelmed
I don't like to admit I'm overwhelmed, but I noticed yesterday... and shared this with Mom, is that the days seem shorter. Not because daylight savings time has ended, but because I have so much more moving and traveling to do. I have to be certain places at certain times for my own reasons. Travel time makes a big difference.
Frank is a legend at the Lansdowne YMCA.
He was my first training partner, mentor and still a friend,
Also, the recent changes in the "movie" - the presenters on the MSM particularly the one I'm familiar with, (Mom watches, literally all day and night), seem to have a personal stake in what happens in the government. Some alt-media presenters believe they do. An alt-media narrative paints the MSM as being complicit in a conspiracy to thwart the campaign of a presidential candidate and then overthrow a (duly elected) president. I like this narrative, not because I feel any special way about DJ45, but because of how I feel about the majority of the presenters and the lies, manipulation and the power that MSM has acquired over the decades. This is across the board. Not divided into a left-right paradigm.
Anyway, with my extra curricular activities I haven't had much time to keep up with the voices and "spin"/analysis of the citizen journalists. When time is short it becomes important to get to the meat of a subject. I don't have time for repetition and banter.
That's the morning rant.
A note to folks working towards losing weight. If you weigh in first thing in the morning, don't be surprised if you weight half a pound more after your initial cup of tea or coffee. Liquids, I've found, have an almost immediate effect on weight. It works the other way as well.
A sloppy transit system for a sloppy city.
I need to crack on with this day. Mom's still sleep and I need to get to the Y so I can be back in time to do my chores. I'm a bit good-sore from yesterday, so I need not spend too much time at the gym. Maybe more core and legs today.
Another reason the days seem shorter is the public transit system. It's slow and sloppy. Maybe just because I waited too long for a bus. However, to support this assessment I need only share a picture of the buses or trains and juxtaposed them with clips of Madrid's metro. The difference is striking. But then I also have to compare other elements such as the age of the lines, the population, etc. Don't expect free wifi on this system either.
Thanks to my own tardiness, I had a short workout. Squats - heavier, but just under my bodyweight. Hanging leg/knee lifts. And some shrugs with the barbell. I could come back to the gym, go to the park or work around the house or yoga it up a bit.
Carried food up stairs. Winded. More of this. I had a decent protein shake after that experience. I'll have to drink more water if I'm going to be consuming protein shakes like that. I mean like, on a daily basis.
After having this phone almost two years I've decided to dictate to it. I don't know whether this will make me lazier or more efficient. Maybe both. This is actually kind of uncomfortable. However it's me moving into the 21st century. Ich (eeek!)
Cruised into the evening. Good dinner. Tea. Not sleepy at near-midnight. Oh, there it is. Goodnight. Up early on Friday.
