Mintvilla’s Save/As Project, Inspired by @erb

in design •  7 years ago  (edited)

This posting is inspired by @erb who has been curating his “save as” work series. As a person that has been following his work, I find his inspiration thread very enticing. Check out his most recent save as and his work as well. His drawings are quite incredible!

As a designer, I strive for new ideas and design but it is so easy to get so caught up in my own patterns and habits. It is helpful listening to music, going out for a run in effort of unleashing creative thoughts to burst out. It is also definitely helpful to look up precedent projects or favorite projects to refresh my brain.

Ken Smith's works are incredible. He takes his landscape architecture practice to a whole new dimension. His work shows the world a type of design that you've never seen before. His work reflects a great deal of his artistic sensibility, curiosity and unique interests. He is very fun and interesting to talk to in person as well - he is a such a New Yorker.

I've been following Andy Cao's work several years now. First, I participated in his project installation at the Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown DC to have a free/full access to the institution but I immediately fell in love with his works. He has a very specific perspective in looking at environments and creating "incidental" experience. His works accentuate the architectural quality of existing elements in a very elegant manner.
