Essays include creative products that have survived to this day. In the midst of penetration of digital media, essays still have many readers because of their flexibility and deep meaning in writing. A good essay is still sought because it leaves a mark in the reader's mind.

Tia Setiadi is an essay writer in Indonesia. In a writing workshop, Tia shared the creative process in writing ideas. I summarized it into an article by adding my own experience in writing essays.

1. Brainstorm / Tree of Ideas:
   Starting from the seed, then the tree trunk, then the branches, then the flowers, then the fruit. Thought so too. Starting from a small thing, then grow, sometimes unexpectedly.
   During the exploration of this idea, let the mind and imagination freely expand, flowing away like rivers flowing to new places, illuminated by the moon or the sun, crossing rocks or hills and forests. Don't be restrained and controlled, let it flow first. Make a map of the adventure of the idea. From this map, an initial draft of our writing will be drawn.

2. Perspective:
   The way we look. An essay man must have a unique and unique perspective in his writing. He was not satisfied with common sense. He was not satisfied with the usual perspective. Every problem raised is seen not only from the front but also from behind, from the edge, from below from above from everywhere. Thus the perspective becomes separate and irreplaceable.

3. Personal Touch:
   Unlike scientific papers or articles, essays require a personal touch. So present a subjective dimension in our essay, which can be distilled from one's own experiences, childhood memories or memories, unique people's stories, from a piece of quote or glance.

4. Miracle of the Word:
   An essay man or essay is fascinated by words like a lover is fascinated by the face he loves. Every word is a door to a new understanding. Every word is the direction to a new adventure. Thus an essay man must have lots of diction, extensive vocabulary, and also extensive reading.
