Church Croydon: entrances @Stef1

Hello my dear Steemians,

When we had our walk around the church our attention was drawn by the beauty of the entrances, usually it is stone made but has windows with some glasses and a door that is usually made of oak and some ornaments from metal. Here you can see the fine work of ancient masters. When I see it it makes me wonder how it was possible without modern equipment to be able to reach such work, also I wonder if those masters did study and learn that or if there was an architect who created the plan and of course then the masters of wood and metal and stonework did hte rest.

This is another door, a bit smaller and from the side of the building but it is smaller maybe for the staff to enter. The colour of the timber is dark oak with metal pattern but also such stonework around the door.

This door is from front and somehow it is protected with metal gate and was closed on that day when we visited it.

How cute, Stef! When I see buildings like this church and its entrance door I can't help but regret that we have traded beauty for functionality, often in poor taste.
