Overcoming My Fear of Heights

If you're suffering from panic or fear of the water, you've probably tried every technique out there to overcome it. I've even done it once in my life! I was afraid of the deep sea for a good long while. Well, at least I didn't swim.

When I first got my fear of the deep I didn't know what to do. I went swimming and soon found myself getting panicky. I soon discovered that, since I was scared of the water, all I had to do was swim. So I just started swimming. And soon I was cured. Two days later I decided to go back and try to swim from the shore.

If you're afraid of the water, what's stopping you from going on a solo days sailing course? I did. I was able to overcome my fear and enjoy the pleasure of sailing. I learned to not worry about my panic attacking me while sailing.

It's very hard to explain how I overcame my fear, but let's just say that I talked myself into finally sailing away on my own. I had been planning to do this for a long time, since I was a teenager. I had never planned on taking the boat out on my first time out, however, on my first day as a solo, I felt an intense fear about everything. This was terrible!

You might be afraid of the dark, afraid of the water, afraid of everything. The worst thing you can do is ignore these fears. You have to face them head-on and confront them. It will take time to conquer every fear, since every day you're in an entirely new environment. However, by confronting your fears, slowly you'll learn to conquer them.

You will definitely face fears on your first few days out on the water. However, keep at it by building confidence each day. I remember my first day on the water, and I was a nervous wreck. But as the days went on I became more comfortable and I began to sail with less fear. Over time, it got even easier and I got used to it.

After conquering your fear of heights, don't ever be afraid to experience things that scare you. Don't be afraid of heights! Instead, feel like you can conquer anything.

When I first started skiing and had a few scares, I would go up to the mountain and do the same thing that I did when I was afraid of heights. Think about it: skiing is basically an airplane that's strapped to your body. If you can mount an airplane, you can mount a chairlift. So, you can conquer your fears of heights, if you just push past them.

Another way to conquer your fears of heights is to find ways to conquer your fears. For example, I'll usually try to find a new route to tackle. I'll start off by finding a shorter mountain that I would enjoy climbing. Once I get comfortable with the new route, I'll keep trying to conquer new heights. I never let any fear of heights stop me from trying something new. If I'm already at the top, then I just enjoy the view.

Another way to feel less scary when conquering your fears of heights is to be in a place where you're not afraid of anything. For instance, when I was afraid of heights, I would always try to find a hill to stand on, or a rise to get onto. Once I was in a place where there were no such distractions, I would just look up. In my mind, I felt like I was looking down on people who were struggling with the same problem that I was having.

Now, you don't have to live in an area where there are a lot of heights. However, you do need to find a source of motivation to overcome your fears. You need to convince yourself that overcoming your fear of heights is possible. This is where overcoming your phobia of panic attacks comes in.

When I first felt a fear of heights like I did when I was twenty years old, it was quite paralyzing. It felt like all hope was lost. I avoided large crowds of people, avoided anything that I thought might lead to heights. I even avoided skiing for over a year. Well, things have changed, and now I can safely ski whenever I want!
