How Is Your Intent Aligned With Your Impact?

How is your intention aligned with your impact? My intent for this article is to help you see how your plan of action and your long-term plans are aligned. You may have heard the saying, "measure twice, cut once." What I am talking about is planning ahead.

When planning for the future, it is important to think about the big picture. This can be done by setting goals and developing clear strategies for achieving those goals. However, often we get so caught up in the here and now that we lose sight of the future. In order to truly achieve our plans, we must be fully committed to the action. Otherwise, we will lose sight of your ultimate objective and be stuck in a rut.

How is your intention aligned with your life purpose? Your life purpose is whatever it is that you have been called to do by God, nature, or whoever else believes in you. It could be to become a teacher, pastor, accountant, farmer, laborer, street preacher, anti-hero, or anything else that defines who you are. The point is, you have to know where you are meant to go and why you need to get there.

The first step in knowing your life purpose is to find out what your life passion is. When I say "find out," I am not telling you that you can't do something that you love. The key is that you need to figure out how to make it your life passion. For example, if you love to ski, finding a job as a ski instructor could be the perfect job for you. Even if you love doing something else, such as surfing, another life purpose might be to become a surf instructor.

Another way to figure out your life purpose is to ask yourself questions such as: what is my biggest challenge? What is something that will challenge me the most in the next few years? What am I willing to sacrifice for my life purpose? Am I willing to take on any job or volunteer work that will help fulfill my life purpose?

When you ask yourself these questions, you will be able to determine how your life is aligned with your impact. You can decide what you really want to do with your life. You will then have to figure out how you can live up to your life vision. Do you see yourself as a CEO with a big house in the mountains every week? Or do you see yourself as a happy retiree enjoying small children while hiking in the woods?

Once you know your purpose in life, it is time to write it down. This should not be a vague goal that you wish to attain. It must be specific enough to guide you in deciding your actions and accomplishments. In the book, The Answer, you will learn how to make the best use of your life's purpose.

When you have a clear idea of your purpose, it will be easier for you to determine how your life is aligned with your impact. You will also know if your life path is helping you fulfill your purpose or if it is hindering you. You will have a better understanding of whether you are living according to your life's purpose. You will also be able to know if you are living in harmony with your life's purpose. If you can't answer the question, "how is your intention aligned with your impact?" I encourage you to review your bookshelf and find resources to help clarify your intentions and impact.
