We expect wet weather this time of year. Some of us actually look forward to it because the temperature drops around 10 degrees for the next few months and after a grueling hot season, I seriously welcome that sort of thing. It is cooler but we still live in Thailand so it's still pretty hot.
Every now and then we get lucky and the cooler temps are NOT accompanies with loads of rain and that is exactly what happened this time around in what proved to be one of my favorite runs in the past several months.
In this part of town to the South of the city center, there are these giant pits all over the place. We don't actually know what they are for but suspect that they are simply backfill dirt that gets moved all over the city. In the meantime though, I would prefer to not go down the side of this thing since getting out without a rope could prove problematic!
It was neat to run into this herd of buffalo with their one doggy friend that is just kind of chilling there with them. The dog didn't mind that we were around and mostly didn't even react to our presence.
The best part of the day was the fact that not only did it not rain, but it never really threatened to. The only water on any of us was our own sweat and of course the ice on the bums. It wasn't great turnout so everyone got plenty of time on the ice.
it really is extremely rare that we are going to get clear skies like this in December. There wasn't any threat of rain at all but despite the cloud cover, it was still quite cool. This is, IMO the best time of year to be in Chiang Mai especially on the days that you can manage to not have any rain.
it wasn't a great turnout, but those of us that did turn up had a great time just like we always do. This time of year we expect to have lower than average crowds because a lot of us return to our home countries for the holidays. It's only us hardcore Hashers that stick around for the full ride!
