Run hard & be nice (to people and to yourself!)! I have to improve on both:
- I started to improve my running pace (thank you Steemian runners to change my view on this a little bit... I totally didn't care how fast I run my runs and now I see that I can do better and faster).
- Most of the time I am nice to people. And there are some lapses on this general truth... I get really impatient with rigid people with no flexibility. So I will address this as a new challenge: I will try to stay calm and nice... I will try, yes. ;)
Question for you: "Any tips on any of the above-mentioned challenges?"
You are changing all your life, so why not change with the determination towards better you?
Oh... this was one of the "lastest" runs... I finished my run at 23.30. Not a soul was on the streets (of course).
It was nice having a music while running after a few days break. Still in love with the Ghostpoet's music and lyrics!
I've been running each and every day since the end of May 2016. The Running Streak continues and you can see and follow my daily pics also here: daily runs since 30th of May 2016.
Three Hearts half-marathon on 19th of May and
Bovec half-marathon on 15th of September.

You might get a better picture of who I am if you read some of my other posts: So to be short and sweet, my introduction in #-form would look like this:
In few words...
I joined Steemit in December 2017. @blockchain48 introduced me to it and explained to me how it works and why I could enjoy it. And I do enjoy it! I like the diversity and spirit of Steemit!
My main topic here is running. I also work on @runningproject (initiator of the project is @toofasteddie) as a Running Witness. I also regularly apply my running posts in #runforsteem challenge. I also post about origami and GTD (Getting Things Done).
- I prepared a post about my life journey on the area of finding an ideal job for me: If I could be anything, I would be....
- My core daily habit is running. If you do not run yet and would like to try it... I've written a blog: Manual for wannabe runners, where you can find tips and tricks, how to start running.
- As a Streak Runner, I wanted to share more information about this specific running approach. You can read more about Streak Running in my blog: All you wanted to know about Running Streak - part 1, part 2 and part 3.
- I am revealing about my first steps in running arena in this post: How I started to run or can a workaholic and sedentary couch potato become a marathon runner?.
- I am certified GTD trainer so occasionally I write about Gettint Things Done methodology.
- I love origami and here is my post about the art of folding papers or what anybody should know about it.
- This was my introduction post on Steemit: 2018 is here! Any New Year's resolutions? And who am I to write about this?.

Usually, counting till 10 works for me ;-)

Yes, I know this method, I only (sometimes) forget to start to count ;)

Honestly its very difficult to be kind to some people. I guess I tend to keep my distance from them and only engage on a certain level when that is possible of course. I also think some people need to be told how it is but I guess this can be done in as kinder way as possible and that is the best way to influence them of course.

They should go hand in hand, right? The harder you run, the less energy you have to be mean. ;) Maybe not directly, but I find keeping ahead of my stress by getting it out in a physically productive way tends to make me less likely to take it out on others. With certain people you do just have to pick your battles sometimes, though.

I would say that not being mean can be very far away from being nice. I dare to say that I am not a mean person in any circumstances.Mean is just not my thing. Maybe this is because of daily runs ;) No, seriously... I know what you are saying... keeping ahead of stress is a good advice and I most of the time manage to stick with it. Of, course, I am just a poor human being hence sometimes I magnificently fail at my desired behavior. And then again... sometimes I manage to be a magnificent human being and do incredible and very kind things for others :)

I cannot imagine you being a mean person. :) You are very right, as well, in that there is a big difference in actually being actively nice versus just avoiding conflict. A lot of our behavior comes down to habit, so if you can make it a daily goal to actively go out of your way to extend some kindness and grace to different folks I'm sure you'll be well on your way. We all fail at times, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try!

I love the simplicity and freedom of running. A pair of shoes and you are all set to explore new trails.
