You are right not to go on the run in such weather. I would also like to be right in that sense... but you know: "the streak must go on". So my run is still to be done in following few hours of the remains of the day. By the way: temperatures are almost as here (Slovenia)... all Europe is freezing cold these days.

I could have gone for a quick job around the work site, but decided not to. There will be other opportunites.

Just came back from a bit less than 4 km. The cold felt less annoying... or maybe I am getting used to it ;) Enjoy your next run!

If you can't get outside for a run, focus on some good core work. It's not something 'just to fill in time' it actually makes a big difference in your performance. So you can count this as a day not wasted.

The sun has returned here today, and while it feels a bit cool it's actually 20 degrees. But already the talk is turning towards what sort of winter we are going to have, with the consensus that it is going to be a hard one.

Given what you guys are going through, it's not something I'm looking forward to.

Hope you're keeping warm :-)

I will do a workout of some sort. We're coping with the weather

Stay warm and be safe. We know all about slipping on the ice where I live. Not fun! Crazy took the motorcycle out for a ride yesterday, and now they're expecting a snow storm and possible 10" of snow ... Spring will be here soon enough :)

Same weather in Belgium and it's not easy to find motivation and go out to run!

Don't dare running. I fell while running on 3rd Dec got a minor ligament injury but still it hurts when I try to run. I wasted almost 3 months and still not sure when i will be able to run. So take a break n stay safe.

I'll be careful. Don't want to break anything

I've never actually seen someone using nest lol. Btw, it's freezing here in Los Angeles. It's 64 degrees. I'm not used to it but I guess I should appreciate it.

I live on east coast of England, ‘The beast from the east’ definitely came here. I’ve not been out for a run all week. Haven’t been able to get to the gym either, this is not good for my marathon training but better to be safe than sorry.

I've seen folk out running on the snow, but that's risky. I'll wait for it to clear a bt

On days like this I prefer to stay home with a blanket and hot chocolate. I wouldn't risk running today but I am not very good at running on a bright sunny day either :)

Looks treacherous. Very clear sunny day here with only a light powdering, would be wary later in the day as the temperature drops.

could you do your test on a treadmill indoors? I know it isn't the same as outdoor running, but better than risking your ankles

I don't have access to a treadmill. I've not joined a gym as generally the outdoors is my gym

our local leisure centre lets you get a one off pass to the gym for about £3 withouht having to join. Maybe your local leisure centre might do the same?

Ice is the worst for sure. Stay safe and warm out there!

Stay safe @steevc, the last thing you want is a fall, that would set you back way more than a session or two missed. It is falling hard here in Kildare, Id say we are at about 8" now.... Glad I got supplies in yesterday!

We only have an inch at most. Yes, I want to avoid injury. Will do some other workout instead

It's most certainly cold! 'The Beast from the East' has hit the Netherlands as well. Luckily for us, there's no snow (yet) but clear blue skies! However cold, beautiful winter weather!

Things do look pretty in the snow. It hides some ugly stuff. Maybe you can go skating

I always seem to get this asthma-like reaction to working out in cold conditions like that. Drops my sustainable speed by a lot, probably 25-30%. But other than that I find it kind of refreshing as long as the conditions are dry.

Cold and dry is okay for me. Not sure what my optimal temperature is, but this is probably a bit too cold

We have the same in Warwickshire, I think running is the last thing on my mind, sadly, it usually is. :) Stay Safe!

Hey men do you go for running?
Yeah!from your photograph's we can understand there is no ideal conditions for running.
Beautiful post, thanks for sharing it with us.
Have a great day.
Hope the conditions will soon in our favour.

I don't think it's safe for you to run outside as it might be slippery and u might get hurt. So I think you must do your speed test indoors on a treadmill. Doesn't matter whether it's less snow or more, it's always difficult to walk on some let alone run. So I'm myself a runner and I know it can be a bitch sometimes but you can always go to the gym. There sure is a lot of difference running outside and running on a treadmill but it's the only best option. Safe running brother.

Everyone is so concerned for my health :) I don't have a treadmill. Will run another day

You are so into running....there are some type of shoes available in markek nowadays ...shoes with spikes..they wud assist you well.you wudnt have to worry about climatic changes anymore..

I could do with shoes with more grip for off road too. May have to invest in some.

I have been hearing of snow and watching it on TV for sometime now but haven't experienced it before.i do believe it lowers people's movement and asthmatic patient find it difficult to adopt
