Another Friend

A girl stood on top of a hill
Her mind racing back and forth
While her heart waited patiently
And turned her head to the north.

Up in the sky
Was her friend floating around.
Wearing a coat of the softest cotton
And making a strange sound.

She held out her small hand
And then started to play for hours and hours
Till the sun began to set
And the girl saw her friend go up a tower.

It shone like the brightest star
And the friend promised to come back.
Leaving tears in the girl's eyes.
Finally, said goodbye when the sky was pitch black.
